For anyone who has done or has knowledge of the Koni FSD install on a Mazda 3 hatch, how important are the little plastic washers/pieces, and just exactly where do they go on the strut?
The "plastic" wave disks your referring to is essential to the shock and strut, it allows the bump stops to have something solid to contact so it can do it's job without getting torn/cracked, also serves as a buffer to allow the compression air generated a place to escape under load....so over all yeah you definately need them there.
So, they just sit on the top of the non-moving part of the strut? Hard to understand that, I know. There's the gold part and the silver part. The silver part is what moves in and out of the gold part. The plastic washers sit on the top edge of the gold part?
