I noticed out of nowhere that I had a popping sound coming from my front Driver's side suspension while driving and louder when turning left. I took it in to a shop thinking that it may be my hub bearing...they tell me that my bushings on my lower control arm are busted, I need new engine mounts, stuts and strut mounts. This actually came as no suprise...with the exception of the lower control arm. I then proceeded to purchase these parts and as of last weekend I finished installing the following:
lower control arm(drivers side)
tie rod end(drivers side)
sway bar linkage(drivers side)
Struts(all four)
Strut Mount(driver's side)
all engine mounts(with the exception of the rear engine mount)
So, I take it for a test drive and the car feels amazing...like it did brand new...however the knocking...yeah it's still there.
When I had my control arm off I examined my CV boots inside and outside and they're both in good shape.
Any ideas? I'm seriously just contemplating buying a new axle and new hub assembly...if I can't narrow it down.
(Update)Another thing...the knocking doesn't happen when I am giving it gas, but when I let off it does...and when I apply the brakes it stops as well.
Thanks!
