2002 Protege 5
So. In an attempt to keep my poor protege from rattling, i took off my spoiler, filled it with rubberized undercoat and "Great Stuff", and for aesthetics, smoked the third light. Buzzing stil occurs, but its a lot better. What Dad and i were thinking, is that better gasket material around the perimeter would do the trick. The poor license plate has a piece of cardboard shoved behind. I also removed the entire back interior, did the rubberized undercoat, and some minor great stuff. Dynamat to follow.

Anyways, any suggestions on the Gasket theory?

Use sticky foam stuff behind your license plate. I got mine from wal * mart. Either that or felt. Do the cig lighter and glove box too.

The funny thing bout my system is that i did the sopiler and the plate but the thing that makes the most noise is da wiper. Keep in mind this is on a P5.

Im on a P5 too,,,checkd the wiper, and it didnt seem to be soo bad...im wondering if its my back hatch or bumper

anyone fixed the damn rear shelf? that thing rattles worst of all in mine. i'm of course refering to sedans. i have a JL in a custom box and it pounds, i dynamatted the trunk door and that helped but this rear shelf is killin me! i thought of getting that foam insulation for it but i dunno if itll snap back into place with that stuff under it.
