A good friend of mine has a 2001 NBP Type R. AEM Intake, DC header, gutted cat, and 3in exhaust with an N1 Turbo Muffler. He also runs 18 degrees timing, an advance of 2degrees over stock.
His car tears my MSP up right now. On 10psi its close, but he still walks a car or 2 from 40-90, just gets worse after that.
His b18c5 motor is a very high compression N/A motor that makes 195hp, and 135tq at peak. Our stock motor is a turbo 2.0L that makes 170/160. His car weighs about 2500lbs, and ours 3000, both with driver.
Type R's are faster. Stock for Stock anyways. Now, with turbo thats easy to overcome, as you can see. 12psi, and an intake is enough.
The MSP and Type R also have similar handling capabilities.
Both are awesome cars, so when you get a good race like this, its a good kill, regardless of n/a vs boost, if both cars are modded.
