uhm, 90% of the time a modded turbo car is faster then a modded n/a car. All the outlaw class for import drag is turbo.

Try running a stock type r vs a stock msp. See who gets their butt whooped. The B18C5 is far superior to the ford motor we have on our cars.......don't even let me go in to which car has a better tranny.

I've driven both hondas and now i own a msp, so i can safely say that the engines/trannys in a honda is light years ahead of what the protege has.

Give me a ******* break you piece of s*** Honda owner. You are years ahead in the altezza department you sack of poop.

How is it a Ford motor? Do you even know what you are talking about? This has GOT to be one of the dumbest things of heard on this board. You don't even have the right to own that speed.

Its not our fault Honda cant develop a turbocharger on their cars trhats worth a damn.

Pretty much point less arguing with ignorant people that believe their msp is a great gift from god.

Amen to that! I wouldn't say ignorant, but more narrow-minded and biased. Note to self: Never mention a different make of car on this site because a MSP is the best thing on the road. Even the other Protege owners on this site hate MSP owners for the same reason....and it's still just a Protege.

I have a '94 Civic and a 03.5 MSP. I like the MSP. It's a pretty cool car for cheap, but it takes a turbo charger just to make it competitive with my single cam Civic with only i/h/e. I would hate to know how slow a stock protege is.:D Anyway, I do plan on cranking up the boost to see the difference in performance then. It would probably be much quicker if Mazda could build it properly so it didn't hesitate and all that other crap.

I'm not flamin', just more down to earth about my "car".

Look, I don't care what an engine COULD do, I only care what ACTUALLY happened. So what if the Honda engine is technically superior. WHO WON?

enough said.

maybe the honda guy needs to invest some more money into his ride then.

Soon to be closed up here althouigh the track is terrible any ways. Nowhere near enough capacity. the people there are god damn retards to boot. It took over an hour to check in friday, ******* guy went home and didn't tell anyone.

And yes...it does suck that drags aren't open this late. NED will be open until Halloween (last street night...tell me that won't be freaky wicked huge!)

I think slug really needs to make an apperance that night.

thing about what you just said.........
You can up the boost on a turbo car to get lots of power. On a N/A car an exhaust and intake will net maybe 6 to 8 hp to the wheels. Fully built N/A will typically cost more then a turbo car and is harder to get more power out of.

Now wait a sec...you're gonna have to clarify this statement for me. I've a got a buddy that has an '02 Z28 that he's put around two grand into. He's sitting right at about 380rwhp.

I'm in my RX-7 for somewhere in the neighborhood of $15K, not including cosmetic crap, and I'm sitting at that same 380rwhp. My p/w ratio is better, simply because his Camaro is a pig, but his torque bests me by quite a bit.

Long story short, how did he pay more to get the same result on the 1/4-mile in this situation? Perhaps I'm misreading your post. Please expound your statement.

neither can mazda, they outsourced it

Mazda INVENTED the twin turbo-charger and are PERFECTLY knowledgable about turbo charger systems i.e. Eunos, Cosmo, GLC, blah blah blah, the list goes on. The only reason they outsourced it was to make AMERICANS buy a ******* turbo car because it had the Callaway nameplate on it.

Just to make a long story short. Any Street Driven CAR ,that has TURBO "WILL ALWAYS HAVE (TURBO LAG, TURBO LAG, TURBO LAG, TURBO LAG)." Also the MSP Stock Vs Type-R stock are basically even, untill the Type-R get's to Above 90, then it's a Different story. The Type-R will probably pull on the MSP. BTW if you're gonna Get all Pissy!! about the MSP being Turbo'd with mod's, the Type-R has mod's to!. So what's the Difference? you don't see other 00Civic Si owner's complain about losing to a Type-R, especially when the Type-R is Stock and the SI has I/H/E. The Type-R will win due to because it has 30moreHP and has 29lb-fts of more torque and it weigh's just the same as a 00SI. So what's Your Point?

I'm not taking sides here or anything, but you guys are really generalizing pretty bad. The S4 in my sig has ZERO turbo lag, the torque is higher than the hp, etc., etc.

I drove a Lotus Esprit TT two night ago. Same story. ZERO lag and gobs of torque.

A 3rd gen RX-7 will have VERY little lag with its sequential turbos (though admittedly there is some - but it's negligible).

Just wanted to clarify that there *are* turbo'd street cars that have little or no lag.
