So I wanted to know why we did not show up in KBB. This is the reason why. This is why we are sometimes lowballed on trade-ins. They go right to KBB, and look it up as a LX or whatever.

Just thought you guys might want to know.

LOL, but the have they mp3... WTF ?
mp3 was less produced than the msp. werd.
yeah but going by what they said, more mp3's have been sold used, so there have been more "transactions to monitor." It sounds like they'll have a value soon enough, but who knows what it'll be ;\.

the way MSP's are being sold and traded, it won't be long, thats if there are any left still alive.

does anyone know how many have been written off??

^ Yeah that would be interesting to know...and I wonder if the value of our car will increase with less of them in the market.

actually most dealers use the NADA value for trade in....currently at 14600 tradein and 16.100 retail for a msp with 12K on it...goto www.nada.com and click on the consumer link on the left side.....

When I totaled my MSP in May, the insurance company got the value of the car from a "blackbook" listing......whatever that is.

Damn, I wish I could find some around here that do- Nadas prices are generous. Everyone I deal with use KBB or Galves- galves prices will really leave you feeling violated after the deal :). However, I noticed they try to buy the trades at galves and SELL at Nada since Nada is so much higher then KBB usually.

If you sell your speed in an auto trader or something like it, I'm sure you will probably get more for your car in the long run. I've ben told that when you sell rather than trade, you will get more for the car. Alot of people dont even know what a mazdaspeed is. It's pretty sad.

Like I said, I traded mine in last saturday and got 18K. Of course, this was Mazda though, so they understand the value better I'd assume.

Yours is just an example of luck :). People have paid less than that new off the lot. When I traded mine in last June or so, it was only 3 months old with 9000 miles and they gave me like $13k for it!! They called a Mazda dealer to get an idea what to pay and Mazda said "we can't get these things off the lot, I wouldn't pay more than $12k for it". It is good to see that some people are actually getting their $$$ back on them though, I got ass ***** on mine. The $12-$13k range was what about 7 different dealers told me then too!!!!
