Is a k0422 turbo from a cx-7 a direct replacement on the ms3?

I may be able to get a K0422-582 turbo that was off a cx-7. will this directly bolt up?

I think it's the same but really wanted to double check first!
Thanks

The CX-7 turbo has a small turbine housing/wheel than ours.

It will directly bolt up but will not offer the same horsepower as the speed3/6 turbo. CX-7s are rated at 244hp I believe.

i thought the hp difference was merely a software difference, or was that between the ms6 and ms3? the difference there was only like 9hp

could just be software. For example, in the 01 Audi S4, its rated 250 horsepower from the factory. A stock A6, with the same 2.7 TT engine is rated at 225 hp. That is simply software...so this probably is too, but i could be wrong

I thought it was just ECU tuning issues as well.... I'd really like to know, cause I've got to make a move on this thing quick!

Think about it. You`re designing a car and have a target horsepower range. To maximize drivability by limiting lag (plus probably saving on costs) you install the smallest turbo that will achieve the target power level.

I can't find the thread but, on the other forum, someone had bought a CX-7 turbo for their MS6, only to find out it was actually smaller.

hmmmm. oh well, i guess! I do think it is kind of dumb for them to use a different turbo on the same engine... just build 'em all in one place and drop 'em into either a ms3, ms6, or cx7... thanks for the help, though, good thing I didn't buy it right away!
