Never had this prob with mine. the only prob i did have was when i first installed the CAI i took it to the track and the shock from shifting actually loosened the clamps farther downstream and the last two sections of piping actually came apart leaving a small gap between them. from that point on i made sure that i kept a set of allen wrenches in the car for adjustment purposes.
for anybody who runs the typhoon as a CAI did you have any probs w/ the last section of piping rubbing against the frame(where the hole in the frame is where the filter goes down into the wheel well? i had this happen and it rubbed away some paint from the intake. i found that the rubber mount piece which is attached to the frame and supports the lastsection of piping was too short. anyone experience this? so to remedy i used an extra nut to raise the rubber bushing piece. id like to get a taller rubber/screw to negate the extra nut i'm using. where can you buy these. would the mazda dealer have one. i could buy one from my work but i don't want to pay BMW prices for parts...even for small parts.
