As long as it says it's for the 2.0 or 1.8, then yes.

i know this is highly debatable and i have searched the forums...but found nothing that really helped me out...so maybe ill ask you people...

which is better???/ the injen racing division CAI or the K&N Typhoon CAI????

im looking into buying 1 of the 2.....and i would like to know some other P5er's opinions on the purchase....

thanks

Get the Weapon-R Competition intake, they have a dyno chart of it making 7hp on a protege 1.8L and like 10 FT Lbs.

that would be nice if i had a 1.8L engine...but since i have a P5 really dont think they come ina 1.8L engine.........

I was using that as a reference, obvisouly if it makes those numbers on the 1.8L it will make similar numbers on the 2.0L, an just my two cents K&N sucks, ive seen dyno charts were there filters didnt make any HP, in fact they lost HP

you got any idea then where i can get one of those intakes from....website or something...so i can look at it

the filter isn't suppose to make hugh numbers in performance. they are mainly there to make the engine run better. i have a drop in filter and the typhoon. im pretty impressed with my mazdaspeed axel back and k and n drop in filter set up. it has a difference from 3krpm to 5krpm. also, on the highway i can easily jump from 70 to 90mph while staying in 5th gear. i could care less if i gain 1hp from the drop in filter because it makes the engine run smoother. just my 2 cent, im not trying to start anything with you, just throwing out my opinion. anyway i haven't had time to mess with the typhoon much, but the few days i had it installed, i loved the sound and the throttle response from it.

i never said i wanted the weapon r....i jjust asked for a website/link so i could look at it.......i have never heard of it.....so thats y i asked....never said i was goiing to buy it....

I know you didn't, I was asking boston why he suggested it when you said you only wanted a "high quality" piece.

oh well my bad.....you were not really specific on who you were talking to so i thought you were refering your commment to me.....my bad

so anyone got a website/link to this thing so i can check it out.....im kind of interested....now that everyone is talking about it to see what it looks like....and to see the info on it.....buy i probably will not buy it.....just to make you feel more secure anarchistchicken..

How do you have a drop in filter (implying new filter in stock air box) and a typhoon?

i have a drop in filter installed in my car now, and my typhoon is sitting in my room on the floor. i had it installed for 3 days, and i put the stock one back on because im due for 30,000 mile service soon.

which one between the K&N and Injen gives you the best performance?

i've been looking to get one and i've hard alot of good stuff abotu injen, so i'm leaning towards them alot.

the k&n is much more sloid than the injen. the injen is nice, but it feels cheap once installed. it wiggles all over the place. the k&n, however, is a rock plus you can convert the k&n from cold air to short ram.
