K&N intake

Has anyone tried keeping the stock intake setup but using a K&N air filter? If so, has there been any noticeable horsepower increase?

I'm not doing a cold-air intake because I live in eastern PA in which standing water, road salt, and snow are all common enemies.

Negligible performance increase (1-5hp) in 200rpm-wide spot in the power band is not worth putting oil in your MAF. But that's just me...

since i got mine it makes a weird noise that sounds like if a had a air leak under the hood is that normal or is there anyway i could make that noise go away>?

Thanks
