Is anyone running a K&N CIA on a M3? do you like? good gains? Just curious because of the convience factor of getting one. checker can have it for me in 4 days...

well not necessarily... according to this quote from engine mods#2...

"The F2 intakes use a removable urethane insert (reducer) inside the tubing, while the Fujita’s reduction is part of the tubing itself. A good thing about the F2’s removable reducer is that once there’s an available MAFS to take advantage of the 3” tubing, all you have to do is remove the reducer to make even more power. Power will be further augmented by the ECU/fuel tuning once it’s available as well."

dont know what a MAFS is, but it sounds like pipe diameter matters...

Until you get a CEL you just can't get rid of. This is reason that CPE is in existence today.

ive been using a ebay intake with K&N filter no CEL light.

as long as the MAF housing is the same size as on the stock intake pipe youll be fine.

not necessarily young grasshopper. although sizing does play a huge role, turbulent air, piping bends, etc... can all play a role in screwing up the MAF readings and throwing a cel.
