Dropped the head off the machine shop yesterday. Should be done sometime next week hopefully. Still need to order a few things but all the big parts are done, cant wait to drive this thing again :D

Well machine shop apparently doesnt have the right size tool to cut the head for the oversize valves...so he said hes going to make one or try to buy one somewhere.
The AWR Pan should be shipping out next friday, and I just put a deposit down on a part that ive needed for a while now :D excited to get everything

that sounds incredibly dangerous. for a MACHINE shop to not have the correct tools.

I'm not exactly sure what is all involved to put oversized vavles in, but I'm guessing it just requires boring the hole for the valve. How the hell does any machine shop not have the tools to bore a hole? The shop I work at has at least 4 boring heads at any given time, and the bores could also be interpolated then honed, which any shop could do. I would be careful dealing with a shop that does not have the tools to do this simple of a job.

THey bored and honed my block thats in the car now, they also did the machine work on another engine I rebuilt.
They do good work, they just are used to working on V8's i guess, not sure but they'll get it figured out. If not ill find another place to do it, no biggie

Ok well now after talking to my mom (she dropped the head off for me with a list i typed up), turns out its not the bit thats the problem, they have that. She was saying something about them not having the right clamp...im assuming they meant the tool to hold the head on the machine. Cant say for sure because i didnt talk to them directly

Also next friday I will be making the final payment on a MSP trans :) finally can replace the dying trans in my car

here you go......

The AWR pan came in, and i must say, this thing is gorgeous. Def worth the money i spent on it. Also the transmission came in, MSP trans with LSD...
no pics but im sure you all know what a transmision looks like lol

I would hope its not warped...just waited 2 weeks for the dam thing lol ill def check tomorrow though.

And i actually did bend it the first time I took it off, i used a bolt in that welded nut and just ran it in until the oil pan popped off, but i bent it back in a vice lol
every time after that, i just hit it with a rubber mallet a few times and it pops right off.

I was gonna say I've removed a couple and never used a special tool. Just a rubber mallet and tapped it loose

Oil pans gorgeous Simon. Bring it to c&c so o can see/steals it...

Noice oil pan. When do you think she'll be back on the road? What other parts are you waiting for? Will you please shoot some video when she's all buttoned up? I'm jelly. :)

Waiting on the head, the machine shops keeps dicking around. They didnt have the right tool or something...i dont even know what they didnt have, they keep changing it. They said it should be ready by next week though. So if its not im gonna start getting pissed lol

And yea Ill def shoot some video once I get it all back together, I was hoping to have the 505 IM before i put everything back together, but im on a time limit now so thats not gonna happen.

Ok well...after looking at some more parts, Im seriously considering the Haltech sprint 500. I read the features list and one thing really jumped out at me. It has real time programming. So i can tune the car, while its running which sounds freaking awesome. I hate turning off the car everytime I have to adjust the tune with the SSAFC. I would be using it as a piggy back, since I still have to pass emissions, but it seems like a very useful tool. Anybody have any experience with it?

I would talk to maxxmazda about the haltech. I think that's what he is running. Also talk to brian on the other forum
