i just put in my manual boost controller and the boost gauge. i did it at induktion motorsports in hanover, md. i have the boost set at 8 psi right now and im really satisfied with it, however, i turned it upto 9 psi at first and it pulled really hard but i think i hit fuel cut. anybody else hit it at 9? ive been readin around and i saw that most people hit fuel cut at 10 or higher. another concern im having is when i let off the gas it jerks a little bit and then when i push the gas again it jerks ALOT. is this cuz of more power or my driving or what. anybody have similar effects? thanks

the jerkiness is the ECU. That's one the driveability problems with the Mazdaspeed.
Somepeople claim to have hit spark cut at 8 psi, but in cold weather. Someother say they can boost 12 psi without spark cut so it all depends. I doubt to would hit spark cut at 9 psi in hot weather.

anything that might help cure this jerking? im not lookin to spend money on a unichip or anything too expensive or whatever because im trying to save up for a FMIC, will the front mount have any effect on the driveability of the car?

Have you had the car flashed by Mazda. That would make it about 50% better, but not 100%

i dont know if its been flashed...im scared to go into mazda to ask but ill give my service rep a call and see if he might know. anyway that i can check this on my own? also, i had some kinda custom work done with my boost gauge and mbc, ill post a picture of it so you guys can tell me what you think.

EDIT: the car is pretty damn quick at 8.5 psi. i demolished a GTI 1.8T and i beat a WRX on the highway. i didnt expect to beat him but maybe he wasnt flooring it or maybe it was auto or somethin? oh well, only 1 loss...to an STI. i knew i would lose but i wanted to see one dip lol.

As for the WRX, AWD from a roll ain't that good, the STI well that's a different story

might wanna try a joeP FPR, his site says it will help. I am yet to recieve any of my stuff from him, but when i put it all on i will let you know.

I just put in a TurboXS MBC single stage it took like 15mins and i mounted it adjusted it to 9PSI car runs awesome Hard pipes and a HKS SSBOV is next most likely by tuesday ALPINE OUT!

If your car was flashed it would have a sticker in the engine bay saying a revision was done or something along those lines. Check the firewall side or around the sides in the engine bay.

Not true, i had mine checked and it was flashed, and the guy flashed it again to make sure, and it had no sticker or anything. I watched him do it.

Yep, I had mine flashed and no sticker was put on it.I think its because the dealer knows how i am and I wouldn't like them putting stickers on my ride.

to be honest the FMIC will most likly make it worse . if you bought your car after the flash craze i guess about 6 months ago , then your prob flashed.
i would hit cut boosting above 8. when i added fmic. i still hit cut and it seemed more violent. . cheap solutions = fcd, fpr, maf volt mods $$ solutions = engine managment

i bought the car maybe 2-3 months ago with 77 miles on it. im guessing its flashed. it still jerks alot but oh well. as far as the fuel cut goes, i will probably end up ordering the joep fcd sometime this week. thanks for all your input guys.

Just got my Joep FCD installed it really helped smooth things out. I would hit the fuel cut at 9 PSI when it wasn't all that cold out. The FMIC will cool the air down more so you'll have more fuel cut if you don't go with somekind of FCD. Check out the other thread on Joep it sounds like he is behind some on shipping the FCD's out.
