Just one Mod, then I gotta go-

I was planning on dropping $2200 on a CPE turbo-back, a boost gauge, a CPE CAI, and an ETS TMIC.

I am impatient.

I have $500.

What do I buy first?
(can 'over'spend for TMIC if need be, or buy part of the exhaust, or the CAI and gauge...)

INTAKE!!! I started with one as well. There are cheaper alternatives to the CP-E or Mazdaspeed units. BEGI's intake box is only 175. You will love the turbo sound and you also hear the bpv a bit as an added bonus. The catback alone is a sound improvement only. The stock 2.5" pipes flow alright for the near stock power levels.

i want to look into getting BEGI's intake sytem, but how much horsepower does it add?.....do you know?.....and does it sound as good as a cold air intake?

I say screw it and buy it all and join my club...buahahahahahaha!!!!!

I /really/ want to just put it on the Amex... But I'm also looking at handcuffs--er, I mean, rings right now.

The dyno'd 20whp and 20 torque from the TMIC is pretty attractive.

i'm a fan of isolated short ram intakes vs. cold air intakes. they're safer.

i'm probably going to get flamed for this.... (fight)

Im not to famailiar with he MS3 but i would say go with a SRI intake since the point of a IC is the cool down the air,and i made my Injen CAI into a SRI and i noticed a dif. in throttle response and turbo spool up time, I would say dont waste your money on a TMIC cause it would just seem like you would just suffer from heat soak. If you were to just make your own SRI then i would say get a FMIC, since it sounds like the stock exhaust is fine the way it is for know. So then you would have a SRI and a FMIC.

But like i said earlier im a MSP owner and i have only sat in a MS3 at a dealer ship lol.

I am an ex MSP owner myself and had both CAI and SRI on that car. I always thought the SRI to be better with throttle response as well. right now a SRI is my preference and that will be the route I go.

BEGI is the only intake that is a short ram I believe. The TMIC is good for 20hp+20tq where the intake is more like 30hp+30tq. In my opinion a fmic isn't worth the money right now. At 2x the cost of a tmic its all your call.

autoexe makes ram intake but its like $750. best thing for 500 would be intake, or tmic upgrade..but the intake upgrade is just so nice since u can hear the turbo and is the most power for least money out of the mods that are available. The choice is yours.(shrug)

I think autoexe (maybe) makes ram intake as well.

They do, but I haven't seen the dam thing for under $700, bit steep since all competitor products (SRI, CAI) are less than 50% of that. I really doubt it's making even 25% more power than those do, let alone 100% more.

Price wise HP of CAI/SRI is X and cost is $$, since cost of the AutoEXE is $$$$, it's not worth it unless HP is XX. I don't even think anyone has spoken up as to running the ram intakes yet...

I'm liking the CPE CAI just because of their development efforts; if I wasn't going CPE I would just go with Mazdaspeed.

I am thinking about getting the BEGI sri. I would love to have the ram air system from Autoexe, but I don't like the price. I would be worried about hydrolock if I got a cai. I know, "don't go playing in the puddles and you will be fine."

Get the shifter, I dont have mine yet but I have a feeling this will be the best mod for the money. Hopefully it will help smooth out shifts, I no longer grind gears at all but I still have a very hard time with smooth shifts.
