So I just Joined the club that no one wants to join. I have found a replacement motor in a 2002 p5. I am pretty sure they are the same I am just wanting to make sure. I have the 2003 msp. Its time to put a motor in turn the boost back to stock and sell I think. sad sad day.

the blocks are the same. MSP has the oil return line in the MBSP. if your MBSP is still in one piece, you can swap it over to the new block. I would take this as an opportunity to build the engine for more strength.

MBSP = Main Bearing Support Plate. its the part of the engine where the oil drain line connects.

Ya mine looks to be fine on the outside. Idk about internal. Can that be tapped else where in case?

How much boost were you running? Do you have a MBC?

10lbs spiking to 13lbs. and ya just a manuel boost controller.

That really sucks to hear man, I hope you keep it when it's back together. MBCs can't dial back the boost as quickly or effectively as an EBC when they spike and that may have contributed.

ya its just hard to swallow the 500 for one LOL, thats a dumb statement... now im gonna swallow 2000 to rebuild a different engine hahahahah. Once I find out my personal news on the 4th I will start ordering parts or it will be another 6 months before I get to.

Lol exactly, how much is a motor!? I paid about $250 for my greddy.

well motor at a pick a pull is 220. I plan on tearing it down and forging it to solve this from happening again. so roughly 2000.00
