Mazda3 S 5 door
Hello to all!

I was lurking on this forum for a while, wanted to make sure there were some knowledgeable people out there who could help me with any modification questions, troubles, etc.

I got a used 2005 Velocity Red 5-door with only 5K miles on it. It was a trade-in at a Honda dealer, who then sold it to my local Mazda dealer. Needless to say I got it for a great price vs. a brand new one. I've only driven it for about 100 miles so far, but I am definitely happy and excited to make it my own. 1st thing is going to be some tinted windows.

I've seen some posts about the lack of power these have and coming from a 1993 Jeep Wrangler 4-cyl I'd have to disagree! LOL!

I'd post pictures, but everyone already knows what it looks like!

Welcome to the board!

The "lack of power" thing is completely dependent on what you're comparing it to, as you have already discovered. Some people just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. :D

Congrats and welcome. You will not be disappointed in your choice, just don't take it off road j/k.

I'd have to agree. I almost hit 60mph in 2nd gear yesterday, to me that is amazing. My Jeep would have blown up if I tried that!

As requested here's a pic. I'll post another as soon as I can get a good shot of it in the sun. Of course the day I picked it up it was raining!

Simple modification: I need to change out the dealer license plate frames, probably with some chromed ones.

Better yet, take the bracket off and plug the holes in the bumper....front plates are 'required' in Dallas, and even when I've been pulled over for speeding, etc - they've never mentioned it. These cars look SO much better without it, so it's worth taking a chance for me....

I maybe wrong, but I believe that we may not need front plates for much longer. In todays San Antonio Express, there was an article about cutting costs, and going to only one plate was mentioned.
