03 Msp
I never owned a Mazda before but I have owned supercharged and Turbo'd cars. Over all i like the car it is a 03 with 85k on it all original and I pick it up for $4000. Does anyone know where the best place to buy Motor mounts, Front 02 sensor, and the hot pipe coming from the turbo to the Ic? Also I have not had much time to read the site but I notice that there is a clunk noise coming from the back of the car and front but I think the front is from the motor mounts. Is this common? One more is it common for the rear swaybar bushings to squeek?

Thanks

Awr has the best mounts, rockauto.com for the o2 sensor, and you will have to find a used clunk fix kit because none are being made at the moment. Yes it is common for the swaybars to squeak. Welcome to the forums

rear clunk is ether swaybar bushings, links or rarely worn out struts/mounts, most likely the swaybar bushings and links though. i don't mind replacing em every 15k so i never bothered the "clunk fix" front is most likely the swaybar links, mounts are probably shot but links more likely source of your noise.

Thanks again for the help. First I am going to do the O2 sensor, motor mounts, and hot pipe. Then I will track down where all the squeeks and clunks are coming from.
One more thing on this car the clutch is alittle hard to press down and has some play and sometimes it takes alittle effort to switch from gear to gear. Is this also normal for these cars.

My gears go smooth but I do have a rebuilt trans but there's a little play in my shifter but the clutch pedal isn't hard to press in.

Welcome, what color is the car? Replacing the stock motor mounts with solid mounts will make the shifting much smoother, the motor can move with the bad mounts and it throws the shift lever out of alignment with the trans. You can get AWR, Street Unit, SLS, used minerva/medieval solid motor mounts or Corksport and AWR make inserts for the side motor mounts if they aren't torn/shot. I would find a lightly used set of solid mounts on the forums unless you don't want to wait to find them. Sounds like your clunk is from the swaybar bushings and endlinks, if you use marine grease on the bushings it will last a long time without squeaking or clunking.

check your vin number then find the production numbers thread on here. Welcome to the forums!

Also, check out protegegarage, speedcircuit and, CR3 motorsports. CR3's website isn't fully finished but, you can message them on here and get a quick response.

Why do you need a front O2 sensor? Basing this off of a global OBDII P0135? If so, it could be caused by leaking charge pipes- Just an FYI because you mentioned needing new intercooler piping. AWR mounts are most definitely the way to go for mounts. I opted to purchase the 88 durometer mounts (front and rear) and the car has a fairly noticeable vibration at idle. I would recommend buying the mounts directly from AWR for a couple of reasons- A) It'll save you a little bit of money. B) Shipping will be faster. The front motor mount is a snap to do and could be replaced in under 30 minutes even if you're doing it on jackstands. The rear motor mount is a huge pain in the ass and even doing it on a lift with all the necessary tools it still took me over an hour to do in my shop. Now, back to the piping- I'd recommend looking into the eBay FMICs instead of replacing the piping with hardpiping. That is as long as you don't mind doing a little fabrication and modification to make it work. If you search, there's an entire thread in the "How-To" section concerning the eBay FMIC. It cost me ~$220 total for the kit and the necessary silicone adapter for the relocated MAF and the turbo to piping adapter. Now, concerning the "clunk" from the rear- it's well documented that it's, in all likelihood, the sway bar bushings. I've gone through two sets on the front in 20,000 miles and am still on my rear replacement pair that have 20,000 miles on them. I used dialectric grease to lubricate both the front and rear when installing them. Another item that myself, and probably every other member on here, will recommend for you to look into is a Split Second Air/Fuel controller which is commonly referred to as an SSAFC on the forums. There are two different versions and either will work. I have V1 which is without datalogging, whereas V2 has datalogging. It's a fairly simple install and will tremendously help with the very apparent hesitation under load. That's about all I have to add at the moment, so welcome to the forums!

EDIT: Before doing anything related to the SSAFC, I highly recommend you purchase and install a wideband!!!

I would highly recommend, unless you know it's been done, a transmission drain and refill with a quality synthetic gear oil. Whenever I have a problem getting the car into gear I know it's time to do this. The play in the shifter- assuming that's what you meant- could mean that it needs new bushings.

I also had a hard time shifting last week, It was nice and soft when I went side to side but pushing into gears was getting hard.
I checked oil level in the gearbox, which was fine. The solution was to loosen up and grease the bushings directly under the shifter (got it from underside of the car. I believe they were rusting a bit and causing it to be harder to shift, since then it is smooth as hell- in fact too smooth for my liking!

Thanks for the info.

For the O2 the guy that had the car first wired a universal 02 and did it wrong so it is reading O2 not functioning P0124 (I think) I have it writen down at the house.
The Mounts I still need to put the car on the lift to see which ones are bad and I will order some good ones.
I found out most of the clunk from the rear was cuz the spare tire was not mounted down.
The FMIC, the car is for my son so I want to keep it stock I think I am going to go with just a new upgraded hose kit for now. If he wants to go fast I will take him for a ride in my G8 that runs 12.4's on the stock 19's. or can take him in the 97 Gtp that has a 62mm turbo that runs 11.8 on slicks...lol
I am taking up to the shop Thursday to do an oil change for the motor and trans.

Is this the kit I should buy for the mounts: http://store.awrracing.com/engine-mount-kit-protege/

This kit for the FMIC http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-B...eed|Model:Protege&hash=item5890e755f6&vxp=mtr
