Just finished...GT Widebody kit

until that day, this will have to be classified as rice

HAHA I agree. No offense though (it was just for a good laugh), but how big of the wheel can you put on a protege to balance out the wide body kit? When I think of wide body kit, I think of M3, 350z, 240sx, porche, etc..all those cars that can take at least 8'' or 9'' wheel with deep dish in order to justify the look. Nonetheless, iit's my my $0.02 and good luck with the future modding endeavor, looking forward to see the completion. :)

Yeah wheels....uhm....I'm about $2000 short on wheels....

All the orange stuff you see in the front grill is wiring for the Catz HID stuff. I didn't put in the mesh grill because it looked like ass. I'm thinking of maybe making a solid fiberglass cover for that upper grill area....

Wow, why so much wiring for an HID kit??? I only got one wire going to the passenger side and it's hidden under the crossbeam that is just above the rad, totally hidden.

it's what you like that counts...you can hide all that wiring...takes some effort but it would be worth it! have fun!

I dunno, I didn't install the HID system myself. I just know that all the wires I covered had the Catz logoed black shrink wrap over them.

The rear renders were cut to accomodate wider wheels. I am able to get 8" wheels in the rear for sure. 9" wheels are possible, just not totally confident yet.

And yes, whatever wheels I get will have a nice fat polished lip.

The paint matches very well in person. Maybe it's the reflection or something, but all the friends I've had look at my car have said that the paint matches well. These guys show their cars more than I do, so they nitpick a lot. :/

this is the nicest possible way i can put this. bye bye to a 1 of 1750 production car...... that poor black mica (sad1)

Everybody does their own thing to their car. I show mine. Just one of those things I wanted to do to stay ahead of my competition. If everyone else makes their MSP go faster, why can't I make mine go faster AND look better?

I like my kit. I just wanted to share it with other people. Would it be better if I put the kit on an ES, and did all the necessary things to put the Mazdasped turbo setup on it? I'd still end up with the same result.

The way i look at it as at least it DOSN'T look just like 1750other production black mica MSPs'. The car looks super clean and unique. now it 1 of 2 gt wide body proteges'. Wide body kits are the Sh!^

People throw the word rice around like its a wedding.

Obviously he is going to put larger offset tires on it. Duh its a wide body show car. It does look a bit silly though i would agree with the fenders sticking 3" past the tires. and he already has coil overs going on to it very soon.

i guess i wont respond when asked a "what do you think?" question in the future..... because the purpose isnt to get people to disagree with you, but to follow the bandwagon and say, "YAY IM GONNA MAKE MY CAR LIKE THAT TOO!!!" sorry for ruining your day :D

and as a final statement, in no way did i call it rice, just merely that i do not like it and it does not serve justice to a limited production vehicle.

go staggered ... spacers in the front, then deep dish in the rear.
THENN it will look sick. right now it looks unfinished.

i aint afraid to admin it, i like it, first car is see with thekit, i am planning on getting the avg fender flares eventually, only thing i would like to see is a grill in there..

Don't take it that way. It is just frustrating when I asked for opinions on the body. I even stated that in the first post. (And don't worry, I didn't edit it to say that; it was already in the first draft). I thank everyone for their opinion. I just would have appreciated comments on the body kit like I asked, and not to bring up the things I can't afford to do yet. :)

Greensleeper - Thanks for the respect for the work. You're right, it's not everyone's style, but I just had to have it when I saw it. :)

MIA protege - That's not a bad idea....I'm gonna have to consider that.

shaneMazda2000P - The AVG flares look promising. Better let me see the finished product! And yes, I am lacking a grill...something I gotta work on.

I actually like it. If you would have used a modified MP3-style stock bumper with fogs and have wheel spacers, It would look like an earlier model Evo. Like the III-VI models.

As stated already, get a grill and work on the wheel situation and I'd pimp it.

It looks pretty good...and fitment looks to be topo notch...I lke it and I'll leave it at that.

side looks good, back looks great - front - eh, I dunno. The grille will help no doubt, but the bottom kinda looks like it's bowed into a Neon type Smile, only with the side diffusers adding to the effect like some odd pointed moustache.

i think it looks good, but it will look way better with the rims for sure :)

LOL! I never looked at it that way! I guess you could say, with the intercooler, my car has a smile...but with braces. :D
