Just cleaned my engine

yeah, i actually cleaned out my engine bay today. im surprised how much better it makes the car look. im totally happy. im suprised i didnt spend 3 hours on mine, being a perfectionist and all. but all my friends were standing in my driveway waitng for me to hurry up.

i swear, the past 3 days my house has been a car lot with almost a dozen cars parked everywhere...

Holy cow that is clean. Especially the valve cover like someone said. Then again, you live in California. Lucky :(

loudness wont be a problem, i cant hear the engine over my stereo anyways lol. as far as heat goes i would think that it would be cooler without that black stuff, isnt that designed to keep heat in? but again im not too worried about that, i dont run the hell outta my car anymore so im not runnin real high engine temps.
i took that off about 20min ago along with my manifold heatshield (it was all dented and cracked from when the engine was swapped.

Yes, it absorbs heat. by doing so, it keeps it from other places - like your hood. How do you feel about your paint? W/o the foam, the hood will get hotter. Over time, this will accelerate breaking down the paint. Not in a month, but over a long time. Just something to keep in mind.

I think that can be translated as "does not compute" i.e. josh has finally met his match in the absolutely 100% mint and new looking Mazda department.

eh, my paint BLOWS. too many rock chips and scratches in my hood anyways. and i wont have the car long enough for it to be a problem for me. ill be sellin it in a few months anyways. my friends integra doesnt have it either and his paint is fine, so im not too worried.
i might get that dynamat material that you were talkin about someday, but idk, i like the way it looks without it. it looks so much cleaner i think.

Your refering to mine as the one in the middle right? lol, thats where its suposed to be:) And its a nice green color as well. Mine was fuller but I lost some awhile back and I also had a coolant leak after installing my header.

And if your around low well its gonna be just fine. Really as long theres coolant in the thing your ok, just make sure its clean though:)

yes I was, lol
thx for the tip :)
