Just bought NFS-underground

All of the cars are listed on the NFS website (so it would seem) there's not many listed there, i haven't had the chance to see if they can be unlocked.

I am a beta tester for Microsoft and THQ, sometimes EA sends over games and others my friends get from other suppliers. Either way I don't keep anything longer than a month... and then its on to the next.

Is that the stock front end for a sedan?
Mad wheel gap.
what IS up with the black strips?

I played the demo, its pretty sweet, needs a better physics engine for when I smash into things and a damage model would be nice as well

i donno whats up with that your pro, but its all bunked up lol

lowering springs would do you ungodly wonders

I'm playing it now....it came out on the 18th.....xbox or GCN is the way to go...the ps2 version is ass.

I played the PS2 demo and was amazed by the graphics for a PS2. Combine that with online play AND capability to play against PCs online and I'm pretty sure I would say the PS2 version does not suck ass.

I'll probably buy this game for my PS2. The only thing is that it seems to lack depth. Its all night time city driving. I'm going to REALLY miss the end-to-end scenic drives that made NFS what it is. If somebody would combine underground with Porsche Unleashed, or just make a sequel to Porsche Unleashed, I'd be all over that in a heart beat.

Hopefully NFSU 2 will have some cool scenic canyon runs...

graphics do not a good game make....

compare the actual gameplay between GCN, XBOX, and PS2 and see what I mean. The online play is also horribly lagged. My buddy had it and has had problems ever since...I personally would've gotten it on xbox if it had custom soundtracks, xbox live play, or dvd extras, but it didn't. i instead chose to support nintendo. I really respect a company who sticks to their founding beliefs even if it isn't the popular thing to do.

Well I'm glad you're not saying the PS2 one sucks because of graphics. I thought your general "ps2 version is ass" comment was of the typical XBOX culture who think graphics make a game. Sorry about that.

As for lag, who knows. The IGN reviewers were all impressed by the lag free games. Maybe the abundance of play, or poor network connections of your friends or the people he/she plays against is the culprit.

I don't own a GCN, but I'll probably buy one over an XBOX because I love Nintendo also. And you can't beat $99 plus a free game. I totally support their innitiative as well.

Chris

$99 for a GCN and 4.5 games....I just bought one as a gift for my brother. It comes with the 2 Zelda games on NES, the 2 games on N64 and a lengthy demo of Wind Waker. Not bad for a bill. I'm more impressed with Nintendo than anyone else. Their hardware, while not widely used, is the most powerful console on the market. It's very funny to see people argue over processor speeds and "estimated polygons per second" when they aren't comparing apples to apples. The GCN is basically a Mac G4. The ram used in the GCN while only 48Mb is almost 3 times faster than the 64Mb (shared ram) in the Xbox...we won't even discuss PS2. Also while everyone was huffing about polycounts Factor 5 was punching em out. Someone quoted the GCN could run 4-6million poly's per second.....The first Rogue Squadron on GCN was a rush job and ran 15million poly's per second at 60FPS!! Now who else can do that...and do it as a launch title!! Microsoft has some good games, but no'one has started pushing the limits of these systems yet. I like the Xbox harddrive, no extra memory cards saves money, but i had to spend an extra $150 just to buy the Xbox over the GCN. Until Sega's return in the console market I'll have to say Nintendo is my fav....xbox is like 3rd and PS is dead damn last. I hate everything about that company.

for all of those inquiring...those black stripes and the f'd up front bumper are long gone, black stripes were for a car club. This pic is about a year old, that is why i put the other two. i have taken recent pics, i just gotta develop the film. and yes the rims are enkei 5+. but anyways. i loved my N64. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are by far the best first person shooters in their time, and possibly still, but halo is pretty damn good too.

dude, no'one is going to put a protege in a racing game unless mazda makes a game like Ford did with "Ford Racing"...I've actually got Ford Racing2 on xbox and it's not bad...it's only $20...and I can drive the focus SR200!!

what happend to putting the protege in this game?

right now ive got a ricey civic, its great.

you gotta realize that protege is more liek an economical and family car. It is not really a racing car, so, except for us, not many ppl would be interested in it if it was in a game such as NFSU.

In case anyone wanted to know Wal-Mart will be selling the GC with the zelda on the day after thanksgiving for $79. Yes thats all Wal-Marts before anyone asks.

ok so which system is the best for playing this game? PC, Xbox, or GC? I was _this close to getting it and the Xbox tonight. I cant decide.

whoa!! Walmart is selling the GCN zelda bundle for $79 after T-giving??? Damnnit, I just bought one for $99 yesterday...oh well, I'll take it back and save myself the $20!! Thanks for the headsup...where do you get your info??

[rant]Damn all of you that got NFS:U already!!! I've been sitting here for a week now because I was told it was coming out last Tuesday, and then this Tuesday...And some of you even got it today. And just my luck, we're extra busy at work, and I won't be home early tomorrow:( Plus, I got stuff to do after work...ARRGHH!!! Yeah, I also asked a guy about GT4, and he said July...Last I heard it was April:rolleyes: Well, at least it'll be here by NEXT Christmas.....[/rant]
If only I could fall asleep, tomorrow would be here sooner....
