You generally have to ask for the good stuff!Wow, thank you for the link and the heads up! I'd like to try and use this Mazda oil as much as I can, and try to keep and maintain my CX-5 with parts I can trust. I thought it strange that they would push Castrol so much in the documentation when they have their own oil, though I suppose it must be some sort of deal/partnership they have. Do they use Castrol at the Mazda dealers or do they use this Mazda oil?Cheers!
Similar cost for Mazda moly (never pay retail!)I'll pass on the overpriced dealer stuff and get some Redline 0-20. If you like moly, the redline stuff has about 180pp more moly than Mazda. It also is a real synthetic oil (ester based) unlike the Mazda stuff which is groupIII.
Plus, I can get it for less than $9 a qt from a local oil dealer.
Have you tried another dealer, like maybe one that knows what they're talking about?Alas, this moly stuff is still not available in Canada. The parts guys say it does not exist. Even wit a product # the first few oil changes I did, I had to import from Arlington Mazda. Duties and shipping was expensive. My last oil change involved mobile 1. Of course I noticed no change. Lol. However, I would still prefer the moly.
