Just Bought 03.5 MSP

lol thats a good point but i figure with an upgraded turbo, flowing more efficiently around 8 psi shouldnt hurt it at all, less detonation, and such but i will be building the internals just a matter of time and money, im happy with the car where its at, a little more oomph shouldnt hurt it though, im not an expert so feel free to leave any input

yea I mean I don't know which turbo you're thinking but if it's a T3 I'm sure you'll blow up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

na no t3 ill stick the t28 route or the 3017r which is probably one of the elite turbos.

i will i have some spare change right now around $600 and i want to do everything right, i work at a dealer so doing the work isnt a problem, i just need to try to convince myself what i want i might just stick with an intake, exhaust and leave it at that, lol i hate trying to figure out what to buy.(five-0)

get the wb and boost gauge asap, then if i were you i would get a cai, hardpipes, afc, and a tb exhaust.. u should be able to get all that for roughly 1500 in the fs forum.. oh and def.. upgrade the mms

yeah thats where the problem is, the exhaust lol, i dont mind paying for the hardpipes and wideband and afc, and gauges but i cannot find a decent exhaust (price wise) 700+ is a lot for me to spend on exhaust lol. iON motorsports had one that was gaining 22 whp, and peaked 31 whp, so i dont know any recommendations i was probably gonna go the custom route

I personally love the Greddy cat back exhuast thats currently installed on my MSP. It has a nice low sound and doesn't even drone on the highway! You can hold a convo in the car with no porblem with this exhuast and did I mention it sounds great?

sweet man thanks for the reply, im looking for turboback and i dont see very many choices, so i might go custom after getting the corksport downpipe, or is there any other downpipes that are equally as good?

I belave the model I have is a Greddy SP2 cat back. I need to get off my butt and go pickup some non-foulers so I can install my catless midpipe! I'm curious how thats going to affect the sound if any.

You can pickup the Greddy Sp2 exhuast for under 600 from Street Unit. You might be able to get ti cheaper if you look around if your interested that is.

buy Metallics in the fs forum.. she wants 490 shipped and its S-pipe back.. i got my GHL on the fs forum for $400

i had the SP2.. and the damn muffler rusted off where it was welded together.. that kinda puts a bad taste in my mouth!

also if you want the fast spool time, u can get 10-12 psi easy outta that lil gt 25 and virtually no lag.. if i were you.. id keep the turbo until you decide to go forged, and just do bolt ons (dont go crazy until you can really support it!)

it had a good sound.. but i never would have bought it.. it was on the car when i got it.. it rusted right at the weld where the muffler and piping come together toward the front of the car..

mine came with a slew of mods as well. I woul def buy it again if I had to. So far its the best sounding exhuast thats not overkill imo.

sweet thanks guys i will look into those, hopefully i can get something for a good deal, if not theres some good exhuast places around here i will see if i can get a quote from them

Amp No Go!!!

ok i bought a kac5201 kenwood amp, i just wired everything up and its not even turning on, so ground or power problem

everything looks good, some corrosion on battery cables, ground looks ok, i will have to test them at work, is this amp compatible with the head unit? i dont think that would be an issue but hey ya never know

Hey guys, I just picked up an 30.5 msp last week and so far I love it! I found it's got a bad alarm module but the dealer is gonna fix it under warranty for me. I had a CEL for about a day and a half but the car has been driving perfectly fine and eventually the CEL turned off. The parts guy at the dealer said to check the water return elbow for leaking...apparently that's a common problem?

ok so i got it working lol tore the trunk mat and carpet up and found the ground not installed, lol something stupid like always!!!
