Seeing as there seems to be a few of these being bought lately its nothing exciting. Recently sold my 10ae Miata and bought a brand new '13 Crystal White Speed3 w/ tech package last night. Already have a set of 18" Works Emotion CR Kai wheels to go on it, ordered a SURE street RMM, JBR stage II intake, Autodimming mirror w/compass (got it ubercheap) and yellow fog overlays. Going to swap out the interior bulbs and license plate bulbs with LED units tonight. Not going to go too overboard with the car as it will be my daily for years to come but just some little stuff here and there, the goal is a comfy lowered suspension, somewhere around 300-325whp, and a couple tasteful appearance mods.

Figure i can use this as a "build thread"

Didnt get home in enough time to do the interior lights but i did fix the accent lights in the headlights. It looks horrible having some real nice white HID's and then having the yellowish corner accents. I replaced the little 194 bulbs with some white led's and love it (sorry pic is blurry phone was too dead for a flash)

Nice car, can't wait until we pick ours up after Daytona. Like Taylor's idea of us three wide at Road Atlanta during the parade laps!

Woot! CWP MS3s FTW. Glad you finally drove one and warmed up to their awesomeness Korey :D

Oh, and I hate you for already having so many mods on order LOL

some better pictures of the front lights, also installed the tag bulbs tonight. Ordered all the 31mm interior festoon bulbs as well. Lots of stuff to do next week it looks like.

I've gotten a quote for a 13 MS3 0 option car tonight as well as a left over 12 with tech pack. I'd be curious to know if you bought yours from Jim Ellis. They were the reason I bought my 06 Speed6 for $9000 below MSRP. These cars are nowhere near that kind of discount, but still pretty good.
I thought I would want the pearl white as white is my favorite, but the metallic velocity red is pushing my buttons. Congrats on your ride!

Thanks and yes i bought this from Jim Ellis. If you can swing it go for a '13 with tech, i test drove a '12 with tech a few months ago while i was waiting for these to arrive at the dealer and there are a few key features that make the '13 much much better (namely the painted wheels and the '12 navi is horrible). Velocity Red was my first choice but ended up with the Crystal white due to it ending up being pretty much the same price and they had one there (the VRM was at their other lot and was a new stock car) In the end i think i am actually happier with the white.

I will say Jim Ellis really made the experience super painless, never once did i feel pressured to do anything or felt like there was going to be issues. If for some reason you do decide to pick one up and want to try them again get in contact with their internet sales manager Michael Cook and tell him Korey sent you his way, if you want his direct contact shoot me a pm and i can get you his number

Those wheels look really black on the 13's. I thought they'd be a little more gun metal from the description. I like the black painted bumper, but not sure about the mirrors. I really wish they would have changed the navigation out a year earlier. :(

Maybe I'll see you around Atlanta!

The wheels are a dark graphite, almost black but not quite, the center caps however are black. I think if they didnt do all the black accents (rear bumper, mirrors, under spoiler) i would have been a bit turned off by the car. See ya around. ( saw a '12 CWP today at the intersection of the big chicken today infact)

Installed my interior LED's today and the auto dimming mirror. The SURE rmm showed up yesterday, it looks pretty and the packaging is probably one of the nicest i have seen for a car part, lets hope it works just as well.

more work and pictures. The rear motor mount was a piece of cake, vibes are very minimal mostly just a small vibration at idle but i can feel a difference and it will now chirp 3rd. Also got the wheels put on, seems there are some differing opinions on those who like them and those who like the stockers better. These are noticeably lighter though (if my research is correct the Emotion CR Kai is 4lbs lighter per wheel) and i have 235's on them. Ordered some s2000 centercaps as they are the only caps that fit them (Work never made a center cap for these). JBR intake, TIP, and fog overlays showed up today as well.

Congrats!

You, monkey, and Marlon should be the CWP Trinity!

Also, thanks for that underside shot there. Shows me that pretty much any exhaust would work with any 2nd gen 3 (hatch at least). Too bad they are 1 peice and will need to be cut. Just a thought on a pipe dream anyways... since kids are too expensive.

Good call, she was delivered to Lauri's office. Will lost up pics one the rainy weather stops!

Korey, If you plan on picking up a RSB soon, corksport just did a redesign on theirs. It's now a solid one piece 32mm. Better than the welded design they used which was the same as the JBR. Also comes with collars and new bushings as well.

thanks for the heads up, i think i am going to hold off on the suspension upgrades until i feel out what the stock gear can do and what the car is currently capable and go from there.

First off the car spent the day at mazda, i had them turn on the smart turn signal option and have my auto lights come on slightly later. They also applied the xzilon interior and exterior protection treatment (see http://www.xzilon.com/ for more info). More work tonight as well, installed the JBR power path stage II intake system (Short ram and TIP) along with some yellow fog overlays. First off the intake system not only installed super easy but the hardware is top notch (t-bolt clamps, knurled flanges on the maf housing, and large lips on the couplers). Improvement is huge, the car no longer runs out of breathe up top in the revs and pulls quite a bit harder.

Lol now your front end looks just like mine and will probably continue to since we both want the same front lip as well.
