2016 Mazda CX-9 Signature
Just bought the wife a 2009 CX-7 Grand Touring 2.3L Turbo, AWD + Technology Package (Bose, Sirius, Moonroof, Nav), Popular Equipment Package & Remote Starter.

Good news is that Mazda dumped the Bridge Duellers sometime this year and now use Goodyear Eagles.....however, not sure they're much better.

His and hers matching Mazdas in the garages : -)

....Now I have to monitor 2 message boards!

Great,
we nominate you as our liason to CX7 forum.
Keep us posted about anything we should know over there.

I heard the Eagles weren't that great. You can tell us what you think.

I'd like to hear a direct comparison of the 7 and 9, in real world driving, too.

Will let you know what I hear over on the baby board (CX-7).

Yeah Ceric, Tire Rack rates those Eagles pretty bad in snow....Great, think I'll just dump this this fall for something else like Fortera's which I had on both our last SUVs. Are the Yoka Prada specx you have all season for winter too? They look too groovy for snow here in Boston.

They have the best Snow and Ice ratings I've found for an All Season tire. Ice is our biggest problem here, but not enough to buy a second set of tires. I won;t know how well they do for a while, though. Great on dry and wet, though.

If you look at the tread, you can see it's much less a radial groove design than the Duelers or Latitudes, with the center block patterns more like a snow tire.

But...You're in Arizona.....how much snow and ice do you really get there?

I'm in Mass and we get snow, ice and blizzards..

I think the perception is that it never rains, snows, or has any inclement weather of any type in Arizona. Can you prove us wrong with pictures. Isn't it always 80 degrees there?

Where we live, in Prescott, our temps range from single digits to low 100s. We just started monsoon season, which will mean rain almost every day for a month. It even snows in Phoenix about every 6 years.

Flagstaff Downtown, Lowel Observatory, Prescott Downtown, Historical Mt Vernon St in Prescott, Lynx Lake near Prescott.

After our last snow storm in March. 8" in a few hours.

The last two are from downtown. That's solid ice covering the streets.

AZ has more different geologies than any other place.

Prescott has the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine on the planet, so we are not just all desert. We have 3 ski resorts, so you can go to the beach, then go snow skiing a few hours later.

Wow...do I feel ignorant...Holy crap! I had no idea that you got more than a dusting outside the Grand Canyon.

As the other guys said....Point taken.

Cheers!

Now, if you referred to Albuquerque, you'd be correct! (lol2)

I've lived here through 7 winters, shoveled my driveway twice, and drove in snow maybe 4 times. This is why I typically outfit my vehicles with UHP A/S tires (though the Vette has UHP summer tires).
