Jumpy acceleration?

I have a 2004 5 door with a 5 speed. There are less than 2k on it (I bought it in February new left over stock) I notice that on a hill as I wind the engine out in 2nd and 3rd gear there is a slight hesitation at about 4,000 rpm and if I really wind it out there is another hesitation at about 5200 rpm. Any Ideas? (guitar)

I've noticed that too, i think its the vvt changing into a different mode. Thats my best guess.

could be that or the other engine strangeness mazda has, with the exhaust manifold pressure stuff and there is one other engine managment voodoo they have.....??

ive notcied that too, it;ll be pickin up really fast then hesitate for a second. I dont think its the vvt tho cuz i thought that kicks in at like 3200 rpms and ive noticed it at like 5000

Thanks for all the help. I guess I don't have to go and wring any necks at the service dept.
