Got the install done today! (headbang)
It's pretty freaking LOUD. hehe The slim mount sub is definitely louder in a larger box, but it still sounds the same as it did, i.e.-hits and doesn't hit certain bass notes, just much louder. lol. Wound up running the Polk tweeters and rear speakers off the radio, and the component set and sub off the amp. Started at 9am, and didn't finish until 4pm. Much longer than I thought it'd take, but we did do alot.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I was hoping the sub would be a bit louder, but it's not a big deal. I'll be over it in 2 weeks and the knob will be turned down from there on out. LOL REALLY happy with how clean we did everything. Ran new speaker wires through the door plugs, ran wires nicely under the carpet, zip tied them cleanly under the dash, mounted tweeters in the mirror trim, amp under the seat and out of the way, red LED's under dash, and bass knob and LED switch in the blank and coin inserts by the fog light and dimmer switches.
I just need to find a way to secure the box in the back. It slides around under "spirited" driving, but I also need to be able to easily take it out for dog hauling.
Rear door...
I think I'm going to find another one of those "blank" inserts to mount the LED switch. This one works for now though...
Never mind all the scratches on the amp, it's 3 years old. lol
