P5's on winter tires are awesome in the winter. Especially if you're lowered and have a bigger rear sway bar. I didn't get stuck once last year and I used to plow the driveway with my P5. It worked great! Haha
"tire shop" was a complete bust. The guy was a ricer tool bag who was trying to push some 205/50/16 All Season Pirelli's on me. Acted like he know everything they is to know about tires. Just didn't get a good vibe from the dude/place, so we walked away.
Those pics make me want to cry. Brings back memories of when my classic red looked as good on the rear quaters.
Car is coming along nicely Josh and you'll like those meaty tires when the white stuff falls. I run a 185/70/14 also and looking for replacements form my WS-50s. I've been looking at the Hankooks and the General Altimax.
This will be my first set of winter tires, but the guy I got them from said they were the best he's ever had. Giant lugs, but they don't make too much noise.
You'll be very happy! The Blizzaks were my my first set of winter tires and I love them. Wife liked driving my car so much in the winter that I had to buy a set for the MPV.
Everytime I see his car I put my paw up under the quarter panel and it feels soooo good not touching rust. But I also bring a small jar of salt water with me and dap it up in there. Take that, Tennessee car! Muhaha!
Yeah, that shop was sketchy. The kid had a TapOut hat and a Honda "H" tattoo'ed on his neck. Then he kept pushing Josh to buy some 205/50-16 all season Pirellis. Come on, guy. I said we wanted 215/40 or 45 -16 summer tires. And he said the 215's would rub like crazy blah blah blah. I told him I was on 225/40-18's and didn't rub. Then he said "Well I'mnot gonna stand here and bicker all day.". He said he's had a couple P5's and he has owned just about everything. He said he had 5-6 Evo's in the shop under tarps. Oy. Just sketchy. So the best thing to do was walk away.
Keep an eye on Craigslist and the wheel threads in here. Good deals are everywhere, you just have to swoop in on them quick.
Met up with DaveB today! I've been asking his track advice, and he offered some DOT4 brake fluid and to help flush my old stuff out.
Also got another blank switch to mount my LED switch in instead of the coin holder.
I'm also going to give my tires a go for the Oct. 2nd BeaveRun track day. Might even get a set of Hawk pads too, since there's so much track time involved.
I just noticed that your windows are not tinted. Is that something on your list to do? Your car even looks good without the wheels. I just hope that old man winter doesn't ravage it.
