Joe's FP Reducer kit works!!!!

(bow) Ok Joe it's hot as s*** outside and it works, how ever the hesitation is still around. I also noticed a slight power loss, did you feel a slight loss?

Are you running this FPR on you car right now?

Any problems?

I'm going to add the K&N this weekend and see if the slight power loss comes back.

Thanks Joe, the s*** does work, even in Fl.

:D :D

OK Joe, it 11:30pm and about 79 degrees out, I'm going for the evening run. I have 92 Pralude lined up, I'll let you know how the mod worked out tomorrow.

It better work Joe!

LOL :D :D :D :D :D

beware the 'lude. Those cars were pretty quick stock. If you want to really race someone take it to a track with some turns. You guys really don't see the power of this car until you take it in the turns.

Haha- keep me posted :).. Oh yeah, BTW, yes, I have the kit on my car also and notice no power loss at all. Are you sure it is down on power or could it all be in your head (no offense) since it is not surging on and off :)? I will tell you though, these cars make a lot less power in the heat then they do in cooler weather. Did you also remove the weather strip from the cowl to let some heat out?

The Lude went down baby! 92 with DC headers intake & exhaust. The dude claims it puts down 14.90 in the ??? I got him by a car to all three times. Yep this car does run a lot better when its cool, plus Joes FPR did the trick in keeping the Speed from falling on its face. I had to pull 7k in every gear to take that bastard. The Speed totally had the Lude off the hole, but that s*** does pull hard in 2nd and 3rd.The guy said he has a friend for me with a newer Lude SH to run me, however I dont think Ill venture there quite yet. The Lude was a small victory; the real victory is that the car is running better. Ill be removing the weather strip from the cowl & adding the K&N filter this weekend. What ever, the point is that Joes frickin product does everything he said it would.

Thanks Joe!

That's funny- good work!!! I'm glad someone believes my stuff works- you see the other thread about the new FCD unit I make  Whatever... It is always the NA guys that have to start- none of this even applies to them....

Hey Joe, are you running a FMIC? I really think the FMIC will be the key to running well down here in the muggy & hot weather. Any plans in the works for one of them. Im sure I could put something together if I had the time. I have some friends who mandrel bend in Miami and mass-produce just about anything. Cores are readily available, as we both know. I dont know about paying $900.00, it seems a bit steep. Im not saying that its not worth it, but I would like to see the finished product before shelling out the cash. What are your thoughts?

Call me at the number I gave you and we can discuss this- I need to get going now, otherwise I would just type it here :).

Whats this weather stripping people are taking off?

I'm with him, I've heard mention of it now 3 or 4 times and don't have a clue what people are talking about. I don't have a clue in general somtimes but come on help a guy out.

if open the hood you will see a piece of weather stripping just below the wipers that goes across the lenght of the body, there are a bunch of plastic rivets that are holding it on, pop those off and away goes the stripping

what about removing the front one above the headlights??? should this one be removed as well?? Houston texas is about 105f heat index with more that 90% humidity.

Quick question: Are there any weather-related issues to look out for after removing the weather strip? I haven't looked close enough to tell, but I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who knows firsthand or otherwise.

Peace...(hippy)

I think in the summer it will be fine, worst case water gets in under the hood, which it does anyway. In the winter you may want to put it back so snow does not get down there.... wait a second you probably dont get any snow since your in texas so you should be ok.

Well since your in ontario, and I assume you did this on your car then it's probably pretty ok, being that the weather up there isn't the greatest. Guess this will be my first mod, gotta love the do it yourself mods...

I have not done it to my car, but I am going to try it although I am not sure how much difference it will make. After a drive and you open up the hood right now its like opening up an oven, I have never seen a car get so damn hot, this may help out, its worth a try. Mine wont see snow either because I plan on storing it and using my sunfire :)

Much thanks for the reply. I'll be 'modding' my car as soon as I get home.

Yes, this car gets extremely hot under the hood. I think that's one reason the SR intakes w/o heat shielding exhibit some power loss at higher temps. It makes sense that removing the weather strip will improve air flow some and allow an escape path for the hottest air. Thanks for the cheap mods Joe!

I just pulled mine off and it tooke like 5 mins. We'll see what it does, maybe it will help the heat a little
