JL audio Subs??

I'm looking forward to getting 2 subwoofers.
I'm buying 1 year used subs and the model is JL 12w0.
The average wattage is 125W.
Does it have enough power to shake streets?
Any opinions on this subwoofer??
Any experiences??

I have a single 12w0 in a sealed box and it sounds very good for what it is, although I'm more into sound quality than SPL.

I'm giving it about 200w.

It's a decent sub yes, give it enough power and you should be happy with it (along with the right kind of box) to get the amount of bass you prefer.

the new W3 v2 are hella good, my friends blazer sounds very nice, too bad W7's are crazy expensive. W0's are fine. But personally i would go for 2 12' W3's V2.

Define shake the streets?

If you want alot of volume a 12W0 is very much the wrong sub for you. JL is designed with quality in mind more then output volume.

Also no 125 watt sub is going to rule the street.

They are a fantastic sub though and you should give them no less then 125 watts rms each.

Also there are several impedance versions of the 12wo the real model number is 12W04 or 12W08.

which sub it is you are buying will greatly effect what amp you can run it from.

I don't need to rule the street.
What I wanna do is just getting more bass to make people to hear it. What I'm asking is if I can hear the bass from outside of car, like from 20 meters away?
This is the first time of getting subs, so I don't know how it will be like. Give me some inforamtions
Thanks :D

60ft away may be pushing it. In a quiet Neighborhood, sure...on a cruising strip, a little bit...depends on the volume of traffic. I just listened to the JL10W0 today on a 250w amp and it sounded great, but it's not gonna win any SPL comps.

I think 2 subs for $140 CAD is a great deal.
If I don't like them, I'll sell them and buy other subs.
Thanks for your information.
these subs are like trial and experience. :D

Subs are weird animals. From 60 ft you'll hear the rattling but 300 ft away you'll hear thump!

Hmmm

It's not just subs, it's the frequencies. My Klipsh promedias put out good bass all the time, but every once in a while you can find a spot where the bass overtakes everything in the area (like the hallway of my college dorm) It's really quite impressive out of two 6 1/2" subs.

no what you need to get is kicker l5's or l7's i have 2 12" l5"s and they set off car alarms 5 cars away they can and will get you noticed!!!!

get the JL's and give them a try...

I personally have a single 10WO in a sealed powerwedge box from JLAudio....and I am putting 125watts rms to it.....and I love it. so I can imagine that two 12's would be awsome. and really....who gives a ratts butt what it sounds like 60 feet away...what REALLY counts is what it sounds like INSIDE the car.

I bought two JL audio subs today for $140.
Even though RMS is 125W, I'll give them 150W each.
Will it blow up the subs?

I wouldn't worry about that. Too much power can be good in that it's the distortion that fries the subwoofer. It's not like you are using way too much power either, so it should be perfect! Enjoy!!

You should get one w3 in a sealed box it will sound nice. Not to loud and not to soft it's just right. If you really want so bump save your money and get an 8w7 sounds damn good. I herd one in an honda element. The sub cost 399.99 w7's are well worth the cost just read my sig.

Sorry I should have read the 2nd page before I post was not paying attention. 150 watts on each won't do anything to the sud it is best to over power alittle than under power alot.
