Jic Magic opinions

Ok, so Jic racing has the highest hp claims for the standard protege that I have come across- 10-15hp- and they have been doing mazda stuff in japan forever (well maybe not forever but you get my point) My question is this, is anyone using their full catback system, if so what is your feedback for performance and sound levels? It is a 60mm catback system (app 2.36inches) and does anyone think that just getting the muffler, going to my local shop and having them mandrel bend me a 60mm system with the jic tip would be as good????

Both are a excellant choice. I vote for making your own exhaust and welding it all together if you want to save $$'s. My 505 sus looks excellant and performs even better. The sound from this exhaust is unique to say the least. It is a little louder than others but performs much better than most, says my butt dyno. There's my .02

I vote for getting the whole system. You can't beat the quality of and look of this exhaust system. You will only take away from it by juste getting the muffler. The resonator that comes with the catback system makes the most awsome sound! Don't miss out!

Yes, I have the JIC 505 SuS Catback system.

Esteban- Trying to find where I saw that- The last time I looked it up was before my computer completely crashed on me and I have been working on compiling all of my research again- I'll let you know when I find out again

Thanks for the input- I will have to think about it a bit- I know I want the Jic for the fit and finish alone- especially after looking at the one you got linux- and 663 shipped is not too horribly priced, only a couple hundred more than the racing beat and 100 more than the greddy........... How much did you pay for the shop to make you an exhaust using the jic muffler dave?

isn't the resonator's piping tiny compared to the rest of the system? won't that bottleneck the exhaust flow causing the dreaded back pressure that everyone is trying to minimize? maybe it'll help the NA folks regain some of that torque?

yes, this is one of the reasons i went custom. I have a magnaflow high flow resonator with a 2.5"ID

anyone have a ballpark for cost on someone to fabricate the rest of the exhaust for us at a local shop?
