Turn on the news, MSNBC cnn etc

Jet blue plane heading from LA - NY the landing gear wouldnt go up.

so they turned around.

they found out that the front wheels are pointed left to right so its sideways instead straight.

they dumped some fuel, and are heading to LAX right now.

145 passengers onboard

flight number 292 took off around 3 pm pacific time

Wow, those're some amazing pilots. I can't believe that nose gear didn't snap off.

Sweet landing.
 
mad skillz that pilot has to land it ON the white line!!!!!!! glad everyone is ok!!!!! now lets deal with the damn hurricane that is going to huant us and the rest of the nation with gas prices, lives and damages!!!
 
I watched it as well....absolutely amazing landing. I thought for sure it was gonna hit the ground and do a backflip, but he played it perfectly (10)
 
Those pilots were nothing speacial. That was a textbook landing. I expected the strut to hold up. This is not a first for that aircraft the same thing happend before and one of the corrections that were made was adding extra support to the back of the strut. It would have been a problem if they couldnt get the gear down but in this case they couldn't get it up. They have safty features that will not alow the gear to go up if somthing is wrong with it. that is why they became aware of the problem. I congraduate the pilots on a safe landing . they train for this and they handled it exactly how they were suposed to.
 
i love how some of these posts are relating this to like a gymnastics competion...haha
 
i'm sure no one noticed with jet blues sweet monitors with directTV for every passenger.

very impressive though, i'm sure there were a lot of hand shakes after that one.
 
i'd like to know where the textbook on that landing is? how often does the front landing gear break and go sideways like that? like never....that was amazing though...at first i was kinda sketchy as i have a flight on jetBlue next month...but seeing how good that pilot was in landing that, my confidence in the airline is back up again...

I heard the pilots shut that s*** off so people would listen to thier instructions.
