I've got about 3 grand so what do i do?

mspeedpro - if you refer to the thread on the stage 1 FMIC, on our dyno dynamics dyno, there was a gain of ~20whp w/o any other changes to the car other then the FMIC.

With an addition of a 3" cat-back and Greddy Profec B set @ 8.9psi, peak hp increased to 192.2whp.

The harder you run the car, the more consistent power you'll get :)

Seems to me that 3" exhaust would be a bit of overkill. I realize that turbos do generate a lot of heat, but I think that by reducing backpressure by opening up the exhaust that much, you may experience more lag, or what feels like more lag due to less torque at lower rpms. I say only get 3" exhaust if you plan on doing the FMIC and all that jazz. BTW, is it possible to do a T-3 swap on these cars, and do you even think it'd be worth it if so?

thanks for all the info guys..ion i may be giving u an email soon about parts lol...just waiting for the check to come in...o and fyi...i saved about 3 grand...so im not dumb lol..and this is just the first check coming in from the lawsuit hehe

Turbo cars generally hate back pressure. We tested different HKS exhaust setups on our turbo mp3 running a big super 60 t3. We realized a 5-7 peak whp increase by running the 3 incher. However the noise genereated from the exhaust was much loader than the 2.5. The mazdaspeeds little t25 will not expect as much gains from a 3.0 like our t3 turbo. We intially were going to produce a 3incher but due to spacing constraints and really rethinking our product. It is hardly necessary to run a 3inch setup. Gains will be minute vs noise trade off

T3 will not fit the manifold. Is it worth it.........ohh yes;) but its costly to get it to fit:(

If you have a couple grand to spend in aftermarket mods, you should consider these products that we (SPOOL) offer:

FMIC Kit (no cutting required) - $975 shipped, AVAILABLE NOW!
This kit includes full stainless steel piping, silicone couplers, and a Greddy bov flange.

Or if you would like to retain the factory intercooler we offer the Hardpipe Kit which is made out of stainless steel and includes a Greddy bov flange and silicone couplers. This replaces the factory plastic pipes which tend to crack and deform over time and use. This kit costs $399

CAI- $175 like all of our other products this is also made out of stainless steel. This is also available now!

Cat-back exhuast - $699 Again full 2.5" stainless steel piping with a HKS Hiper muffler. Available soon. (next week)

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or Terry at spoolinfo@aol.com or call us at 804-674-9200

xxMSPxx - our full site will be up shortly.

spoolinmp3 - I'd beg to differ on the opinion of the 3" system being overkill. Throttle response is improved the higher the pressure differential through the exhaust turbine. If your system is only 2.5", the pressure differential across the turbine housing would be less then that of the 3". The larger the pressure gradiant, the faster gas will migrate across the differential, and thus allow for faster throttle response.

Why can't someone build a cast-iron manifold using the current manifold as a base. Or maybe somebody with the means could buy 1 or 2 manifolds, hack off the base flange and weld a new flange to enable the addition of a T3/4 hybrid. They could sell the new manifold and turbo as a combo (with the manifold polished!), with a core charge. After customer gets new combo, he could send his old manifold back to be given a new destiny!!

i don't understand why fitment would be an issue... you'd need all new piping too, but isn't spool going to be offering the T3 upgrade still? the upgrade shows the mnai, turbo, pipes, IC, etc etc.

EVO8 - why even go T3/T4, we've got some upgrades that'll be able to make just as much if not more power and will allow you to keep your manifold :)

I don't remember him saying anything about overkill? Infact he said that the 3" system gained more power. All he said is that it was louder. You should be careful how you quote people.

it was "RYNO" he was quoting. he's mixed them up becasue it was in the reply message.
