Hey guys,

It's time for me to get a new battery on my 07 mazda 3 hatch GT. My battery keeps dying in freezing temps. This will be the 1st time that I am changing the battery out on my O7 MZ3.
can you guys suggest any good batteries I should get for my replacement or are they pretty much all the same? I need something that can handle temps that dip into the negative numbers. Any info would be helpful.
Thanks!!!!

I have always had good luck with Optima batteries, they cost twice as much as conventional batteries but worth it in my opinion.

IIRC, Consumer Reports gave high ratings to the Sears Gold series and the Costo Kirkland brand.

check out kinetic batteries. i have 3 of them now in 3 of my different mazda's. i had a optima redtop in my probe, and a optima yellow top in my mazda6 take a dump within a week of each other. and after the redtop was already a replacement under warranty.

read up online. optima batteries arent what they were 4-5 years ago. they have cheapened up alot. and there batteries are showing it.

The Optima's are probably made in China.

I pay $60 for my Delco batteries. :D But that's only because we're a registered distributor and I get 10% over cost.

Lots of threads/comments on other forums about what poor quality the Optima is. For the cost of an Optima, you can buy two "conventional" batteries. Those two batteries will easily outlast an Optima.
