It's NOT all over

Well, got some good news! Turns out the guy that wrote up the estimate on my car was a crooked S.O.B. He totaled the car, told me I could not buy it back and set a buy back value of $318.00.
I got on the phone with Allstate and was informed by another individual that I WAS able to get the car back, she faxed me the estimate the other guy wrote up and some of the things that where on there I knew did not need fixing.
Ok, now the good stuff, I owed 4,200.00 on the car, Allstate gave me 9,850.00 for the value of the car in it's cond. - the 318.00 buy back value,
I got the car delivered to my house for free and received a check for 5,332.00! Nice!! So since then I have removed the whole front end and found very little that needs to be replaced. Now comes the fun part of building it back the way I want it, not to mention I have 5k to play with and no more car payments.
I do need some help finding some after market Headlights and Right fender with the turn sig hole, any pointers would be nice, I should have some pic's up soon.
 
aww so u wont sell me ur cylinder head? damn... get headlights off an 03 if u can, they're blacked out
 
Sucks to hear the beginning of your story but what a Sweet ending! So what happened to the guy who wrote it up crooked?

If you have no luck finding head lights in Canada, contact Jason at http://www.onlinemazdaparts.com He can get the chrome or black housings.

Keep us posted with how the re-build goes!
 
Thanks for the info! I'm taking progress pic's as I work on her, I should have them up in a few weeks.
O' Ya, I just won a full carbonfiber hood and grill off Ebay,,, Hell Yea!!(cabpatch)
 
Wow that worked out in a poor sort of way. You can rebuild it and prolly put it back to nearly how it was, or just part it out on here!
 
O, it will be fixed, and will be better than before!(drinks)
Anyone have a extra right side headlight?
 
I take if you have the hood, fender and everything else that is damaged removed right? If so take a few pictures. I want to knwo if the core support is damaged.

"a while"? yeah a year and a half, that's definitely awhile lol.
Nice job.
Keep in mind that while you have $3k in pocket, you also have a car that technically has greatly diminished value due to a totaled title... that's prob ~ a 2k knock off lol.
I'm still perplexed as to why that would have been totalled though - general rule is 75%, if they gave you 9850 value, that means estimate was $7500?
Or was the frame minorly bent somewhere?
