So I got the windows done; they look great. Not the point of the story...one of my roommates get in to grab some food...he goes to get out; whoops, the handle comes out of the door ...It looks as if they took all of the windows out of the car to tint them...is this normal? I can tell mostly because of a new seal/"caulk" type stuff on the back triangle windows...any rec's or suggestions?   :(

DUDE, you got royally screwed...
It's window tint, man good luck...If they resealed your windows you are looking at leaks in the future...sorry bro.
I'm getting my windows tinted this spring once it warms up...
and I'm pretty sure they will leave the windows where they are...

THIS IS COMPLETELY NOT NORMAL!!!! You never have to take windows out to tint them. It sounds like they messed something up and were trying to fix it themselves. SUE!!!!

wow...you're pretty ******. im pretty wary about where i take my car for things like that...i only bring it to places where ive seen the work they've done. you should definitely complain. try talking to the shop owner first and see if you can get him to pay to get it fixed...if he's gonna be a dick like some people are...bring in a lawyer...he'll change his tune.

Dude I want to know what shop you went to. I want the phone # so I can call these idiot's on the phone. Im laughing as I type And not being rude but WOW now I have heard it all or maybe close. I want to know what Billy Bob shop you went to so I can call and ask them if they would tint my windows if I took them out of my car and sent them UPS to them. I would have this seriously looked into and sorry bout your mishap but that is way wrong.

Sraight Answer: NO you do not take the widows out of a car to tint them. Theres no reason. When you tint a window you have the film ( tint ), a razor blade to cut the film usually done on the outside windows of car, a spray bottle with soap and water to stick and move the tint to the desired area inside the car once you have removed the clear cello to expose the adhesive , and a plastic wedgie to smooth and tuck the tint. And the razor blade again to shape around the windows that you roll down. Sounds easy but takes a hour or two. And whatever you do dont roll your windows down for close to two days so the adhesive dries without creating air bubbles.

Called them this morning. First question, -"do you guys take the door paneling off to do the windows?"
answer: "no, not normally."
- "I had my car in yesterday and last night one of my passenger handles came out, any reason for that?"
- "Which car? (told her) "No the doors didn't come apart on that, but if you come in they guys know how to fix it and will do it for you..."

I plan on grilling them about it today when i go over. why the hell would they be so happy to fix it for me? Strange. I'll let you all know how it goes.
BTW- the seals (plastic and what not) are still intact as far as I can tell
Cross your fingers....

Just got back...asked them every question possible...actually learned a lot...the skinny is, they don't remove door panels, they don't remove windows, (and they actually looked at me funny when I asked; kind of like a WTF are you talking about look; which in a way reassured me) I actually found the screw that had come out on the floor on the passenger side on my way over and they just fixed it. Not sure what the hell happened there, but whatever, everything is back to normal and the ride looks PIMP... :D :D
Hey for the amount of silly minor mistakes the the bunch of us have noticed from the factory, I wouldn't be surprised if the screw just wasn't in tight enough and it was on its way out for a while...the timing just made me worry...

Scott glad it turned out OK. I think its great all of us are paying so close attention to our cars. Almost like we are all in love :p . heh ... Wait I do love my car :D .. Oh well am happy everything worked out... C-Ya
