Issue with suspension

Hi, a while ago I decided to do a major overhaul on my P5. I ran into some trouble when it came to removing the A-arms. There is a bolt (see picture) that was very difficult to undo so I used an impact driver to try to loosen it. It went a few turns and then went completely loose but did not come out of the hole. Now it spins freely. The nut (or whatever is on the other side of the bolt) is still on the bolt. I cannot tighten or loosen the bolt. I cannot find a way to get to the other side of the bolt to hold onto the nut. Has anybody had this problem? If so please let me know how you managed to get around it. I need my car back on the road....lol.

Thanks in advance

I don't know exactly what type retainer is under there but it's probably a captive nut you twisted out. Grind the head off the bolt. After it's out you will have to fiqure out how to fix it.

pull up the carpet inside and see if there is any kind of access to the top of that. There might be a bump or dimple where you can take a holesaw and get to the nut.

why are you trying to take off the control arms? and that bolt is for the subframe!
