Is useing NO2 a good idea ?

Anyone consider using a nitrous window? Of all the people I know who use nitrous, no one has blown an engine. It's all a matter of being an educated user.

yeah..window switch is a great device to use in conjunction w/ n20 kit.

for all you newbies..the window switch..is set..so that when you reach..a certain rpm..the n20 will shutt off..aka shutt off at 6k rpms..even though you are still revving to 6500 before you switch gears.

P5 2 liter motors...not as big an issue. The 3 2 liters make more hp because of the 10:1 pistons.

Almost sounds like you need to do several ride-alongs and see it in action. To get a feel for rpms, and when to spray it. Anybody teaching in the Dallas, TX area?

How about the honda's? they have 11.1 compression and uses 80 shots on stock internals n such...
You can use 100 shots on a stock 1.6 sohc geo metro engine and its not going to blow up as long as you have sufficient fuel in the combustion chamber meaning you need to upgrade your fuel pump, injectors etc....

For the mazda 3's 60 shots is very safe. No mods required. Beleive me I have bee squeezing since '98...

cmon you know this =), most people who go n2o are going for the most power for the least dollar, cause they know an 800dollar kit will get them the 50 or whatever shot they want and dont want to spend more on it, especially on a 3-400dollar gauge, although it is the smart thing to do.

Isnt their a nitrous sticky in one of the forums? it covers pretty much everything you would need to know and links to the info that isnt there. besides knowing how to drive with juice you need to know the specs of the system your using, how to tune for it, colder plugs and a couple other preventative measures and you should be fine.

In theory, anything + Mazda engine = boom...depends on the driver...I say do it man, start at a low shot, wet kit...say 50 to start...or 25 to be really safe(usually you can get the kit with 25, 50, 75 shot nozzles), start low, build up..and by build up, I mean get used to it, buy colder plugs, bigger injectors, and such to make safe...have fun, and don't let a the N20 get the better of you man.

how is using nitrous not boosting?

Boost = Air Charge Boost IE "Charge Pressure"

A Super or Turbo Charger.

No2 = Not Boost

First of all, a dry kit without any additional fuel and you are sure to blow your motor. If anything you need to get a wet kit. Make sure the fuel pump is adequate enough to provide enough fuel also.

A window switch has both an ON RPM as well as the OFF, hence the name...

ok hear is what I am still in the dark about: With the wet kit do you have to wait to go WOT before spraying; and shot i stay below a 75 shoot with a wet kit. Do u realy have to replace the clutch if i am useing a low shoot?

1. Most Kits use a throttle switch to activate.

2. On a stock engine try to stick to a 50 shot, learn how nitrous works and what it does, before going higher.

3. You only have to replace the clutch when a) it's worn out or b) it's slipping.

75 shots will definitely give you a slippage on the clutch. Imagine adding 75 hp at the wheels on a stock clutch.
Yes, you have to hit the nitrous at WOT becasue at this mode you're telling the computer that you want more power and the 02 sensor tells the ECU to go to open loop which gives you more fuel. More fuel is good for a car thats boosted or Nitrous powered especially on the top end.
