Lot of misinformation in that thread, including the part about Ford limiting the HP, but they do seem to like the MSP.
A lot of guys over there have swapped from VW to Mazda and vice-versa. They give credit where credit is due; refreshing on an automotive forum.

Because, I OWN a VW, as well as I STILL own a Mazda. You give me a break, because quality wise, Mazda is still above VW's you like it or not. VW are over rated. (They are NOT like Audi, as most automotive writer say they are)

Don't take me wrong, I love my Jetta, but there is a lot of little glitches (electrical in particular) here and there that are quite annoying. Something I never encontered with Mazda, just regular maintenance. "

I would not be at all surprised at ford had done this. They are in business to sell cars, FORD CARS, not mazda's. And they are not stupid so they know what the competion has to offer. seeing as they cant stop honda or chrysler why not stack the deck as best as they can. it is acctually a very smart business move.

Anyone Notice that the rear badging is not 'MAZADSPEED'?
Even the exhuast doesn't look like the Mazdaspeed exhuast. It almost looks like a aftermarket canon style exhuast made by Apex'i or HKS (laugh)

What's wrong with the SVT Focus? It's an awesome hot hatch. Great handling, impressive (optional) sound system, cargo space galore, room for 4 in comfort, and a decent engine. It would be my second choice after the MSP, to be honest. A car that was built by true enthusiasts.
