Is this a decent system (will it all work well together)?

I did listen to them today at Tweeter and Best Buy but they turned out to be too expensive online. Also, which is better: Infinity Kappa 572.5cf or Infinity Reference 6812cf? I found the Kappa for $100, same price as the references from a site other than cardomain, so Im debating between the two. The Kappa has better wattage and reviews.
Also, I looked at those pioneers that everyone on this forum says "sound like mud" (but get fabulous reviews everywhere...) and they sounded good to me so I just dont know.
Thanks.

Well buy what sounds good to you. That's what really matters. The Kappas are supposed to be a better speaker. I'm guessing the site you found them cheaper on is not an authorized dealer.

more wattage means precisely nothing. Speakers don't make watts, they take them. Basically if anything it's telling you that that speaker won't sound good until you put alot of power to it which is precisely the deal with kappas. they sound much better when you give 'em alot of juice, but at that those cmmd tweeters sound VERY harsh to me. Might be differnet to you, it's all relative, but IMHO, ten times out of ten if you blind tested me between the two I'd pick the refrences, but that's ME. YOU might think differently. YES refrences are less expensive, but they're a very nice sounding speaker. Eitherway, you're really equipped with enough knowledge at this point to know what to do. go listen to things, if you happen to see something you like that's in your price range, just buy 'em. I KNOW everyone does it, and I'm even guilty of it on occasion, but I get REALLY tired of being the brick'n moarter listenting station and info-hut for every internet-happy guy out there.

I dont have any place around me that stocks infinity or rockford fosgate so I have to resort to reviews and you all...I mean the speakers that sounded like mud to you all sounded fine to me (probably bc of my virgin aftermarket speaker ear)...

Alright Ive narrowed my speaker choices down to these:
Infinity Reference 6812cf
Rockford Fosgate Power T1572C
Kenwood KFC-C6889ie
Polk MOMO Carbon MM575 (eBay = $95)
Pioneer TS-A6870R (They have 13 5-star reviews on crutchfield and an almost perfect score on cardomain and only cost $50...? Something wrong here?)

Thanks all. Last thing I need to select before purchasing the system.
If you dont suggest any of those speakers, please suggest some that have a price that are less than or equal to $100, preferably at cardomain.

I also just got CarDomain to price match the Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 2-Way Speakers down to $97 with free dynamat so I was wondering if anyone has heard of the quality of these speakers? Also, I have been reading on the speakers and it seems that I need to power these speakers through an amp? Could I do that with my 4-Ch amp? Finally, my friend said that I should get a set of back speakers as well since I will blow out my back stock speakers if I upgrade just my front speakers? Is this true? Thanks a whole lot.

I thought we went through all of this already. You are going to purchase a 4-channel amp. You bridge the rear two channels to a single subwoofer. You use the front two channels to power the speakers you are about to buy which will be installed in the front doors.

You don't need rear speakers and you don't even have to connect the stock rear speakers. If you want, you can power them off the head unit and fade to the front so they play softly but I wouldn't spend any extra money on new speakers or an additional amplifier so they can be powered. If you were doing an audio/video install with 5.1 surround sound I would say go for it...but you're not.

Go with the Infinitys, they sound like a good deal.

be VERY careful with the .7kappas, they're 2ohm which means they'll load down an amp prety heavy. NO bridging, and be careful of hooking them directly to a deck.

Soundwise, *shrug* they're about what a $100ish dollar coaxial should be. Not my cup of tea personally, I truely still prefer refrences, but if you want more tweet they've got it, The one thing I do like is that the tweeter is backed off form last year a tad, but they've added a "boost" option where if you click it to the right it adds 3db. With that to no boost they're pretty good, I also like the newer cone material it's a bit more natural than last year's but again still prefer refrences... of course the right answer to the question is.... LISTEN TO THEM YOURSELF!!!!

I cant listen to them myself since my nearest stores are Best Buy and Circuit City, and neither stock infinity products. Also, I cant get the free dynamat with the price match gurantee (one promotion only) so wah...Ill decide asap. Poseur, why do you like the refer.'s better?

Does anyone know anything about the Pioneer TS-A6870R speakers? Theyre cheap and have gotten great reviews. My friend has them and loves them. Thanks again.

I guess you are set on them... just buy them... something tells me you wont be able to tell the difference between these and some top end speakers...

First off, Profile Amps suck ass. Second, I doubt that website is an authorized vendor. Third, there are any number of ways to get more power but we already ascertained you don't want to spend alot of money. Fourth, wiring two amps is more work, they take up more space, and you would have to pick out a different wiring kit.

Ick. blah,eww....
If you want more wattage, you cna always get a larger 4ch amp. the benefit of sticking to a single amp isthat you can minimise wiring and footprint (opens up more room for other goodies you might want to stash lateron) and also, that you can get a single, better quality amp and I PROMISE it'll soundbetter than that Profile garbage.

Believe it or not, this forum here is TRUELY one of the most educated audio forums on the web. The advice you've been getting is seriously top notch. Also, again, warranty, etc comes into consideratio with that site.

You get what you pay for, so pay a bit extra for something that you won't have to buy again.

Another thing when it comes to power.. a wat is a watt, but a profile watt isnot necessarily an infinity watt. Power ratings can be stretched and skewed allover the place VERY EASILY. this is the reason that if you're trying to watt shop, look for and directly compare ONLY CES2006 ratings... anything else (especially of lower end brands) is simply a number someone pulle dout of their ass and decide dit would make their pile of crap sell better.

Oh, I was not thinking or purchasing from that site. I was just copying the links that he gave me so I could show you what he suggested.

Well I have about $30-50 more to spend. What should I spend it on?
Also, chuyler how did you put that interactive cardomain shopping cart into your post? I wanna do that to make it easier. Thanks.

If you are using IE6, copy the shopping cart, scroll to the bottom of this page, paste it in the "Quick Reply" box and click "Post Quick Reply". I tried getting it to work with the advanced reply but couldn't figure it out.
