Is the gt any heavier than the sport? By like 10 lbs or so?

officially, mazda says both models are 3153 lbs.

BlackMica is the lightest of all the colors.... Mazda secretly painted over carbon fiber body panels. Where as all the other colors are aluminum sheet metal. So anyone with a BlackMicaSpeed3, their cars are about 1000 lbs or so lighter, therefore the fastest of all the colored Speed3s. Just an FYI for you all curious bunch.

Yea I saw that too. But I gotta think that the gt must be like 3163 with the subs.
I am having a tough time thinking about if I should go for the GT or sport. THe reasonable side of my brain is telling me get the sport and put the money into new rims. But then the other side is saying get those nice HIDs and the bose. But I hear the bose system sucks so I really don't know. Are HIDs really worth $1500?

I guess it would be a really tough question to answer you would have to have a sport and a gt both with a topped off tank on the same scale to know for sure.
bose does suck... although you can't beat the sexy leather interior... cloth is blah, why get cloth on a limited edition Speed3 when you can go leather? honestly?

Does the sport model allow the HIDs from the RPM store to be adjustable, or are they non-adjustable? Just wonderin.
But back to the OP question.

the bose system may not be all that great... but it is better than the system in the sport model. you also get leather trim, HID's, auto wipers/lights, and a theft deterrant system.
I didnt have the option to get a sport model. i had the choice between the car i bought, or no MS3 at the time. That being said, I would not have opted for a sport over the GT for a better deal...

With the GT you get HIDs and LED tailights too, correct? Having both of these factory is a big plus for me.
I think the Bose system sounds great. Bass could be better but it's as good as any factory system I've heard.
Plus you get the auto wipers, those are actually pretty nice. Auto headlights I can take or leave. I don't like that they come on at night when you turn the ignition on, and you can't turn the lights to off without going past ON. Which means they come on anyway.
Auto climate control is nice except it wants to run the AC too much. I *think* if you overide the AC setting the auto climate control still maintains the temperature you pick.
The MPG calculations (overall average and instant) and cruising range only work on the 08 GTs, not the Sport.
I think the GT is worth it.

rpm store is non-adjustable... most people I know who have the gt don't adjust them anyway.
the ones I have fit in like a reg bulb but the wires go to a capacitor/ballast(?) then to the reg light wire harness
no adjustment at all needed on mine from my testing and such... and no issues from mr policeman... that was my first mod

Just one more thing to sway my choice basicaly. Although I figured it would be pretty close.
Are these HIDs from rpm store projector? I think projector is better right? If I can get HIDs for little more than 100 I could put some money twords a stero system and save big time over a GT HMmm...
When I bought my 3 S Touring Sedan. I could have got the GT.
Only thing on it I wanted was the HID's. The Bose system is a joke. Mazda leather is worse than Ford leather. Not to mention its no fun putting my body on burning leather in this part of the country during the summer. The rest of the package was just fu fu fluff.
The cars I looked over also had the sunroof and Navi in it. The sunroof in my Civic and Accord are better made. And there is no comparing Mazda Navi to Honda's system. Hondas system is soooo much better.
I traded a 06 Civic EX Sedan, 5MT, w/Navi for my 3. The Civic was a lemon. Figures I would get a great Accord and a lemon Civic. Anyway the comparison was made side by side.

well i have a gt i was wanting to get a gt as well. the boes system is good for what it is its better then most factory systms. the hids are great i dont know how i drove at night before i had them, it is really the diffrencs between night and day. there is an easter egg to unlock the mpg and weight wise i dont know how much diffrent it is but it should be negligible.
How is Mazda leather worse (really asking here, not challenging.)
The MS3 seats aren't leather in the middle, just on the side bolsters.
