is the cp-e turbo back exhaust legal?

I'm new to the forum and am seriously looking into buying a mazdaspeed3. I have also been looking at ways to modify the car. I've decided that I want the mazdaspeed CAI, but think that there are better exhausts than the mazdaspeed one. I have seen a video of the cp-e turbo back exhaust and really like the tone it has. I just wanted to know if it was street legal or not. Also, if you have any other exhausts that you recommend, please let me know. Take care and thanks!

Two things could make it not street legal.

IF your state requires an emissions inspection and there is no catalytic converter, you will fail the inspection. I haven't looked too closely at all the exhaust setups so I haven't memorized them all, but with most they come in multiple sections so you can get a test pipe without a catalytic converter, in addition to either using the stock pipe which has a cat in it or getting a turbo back setup with a cat, then swapping in a test pipe later.

The other is noise, but almost every exhaust setup out there is going to be fine with that, if its too loud you'll get a ticket or fail safety inspection. I really wouldn't worry too much about this, nearly every system out there will be compliant with noise regulations.

if you get cp-e downpipe and catback exhaust...you could put your stock catback on before you get emissions test and most likely pass. the stock catback bolts up to the cp-e downpipe without a problem i hear.
