I put new MSP springs in my car yesterday, and today took it in to get an alignment. the guy tried to charge me $284 saying that i needed camber kits for the front and rear....i told him to shove the kits up his ass and walked out.

so i start checkin around on here, and everything seems to say that i should have issues with toe, and not camber...
the only thing i did notice is that one of my little white dots on my strut was pointed in/front instead of out/front so, i turned that, and most of the pulling to the right went away.....

so this guy is totally retarded right? i dont need camber kits, do I? i dont autocross or anything......ive got another appointment at a different place in the morning. i want to see what they say.

Just take it to a dealership that has alignment equipment... they'll know the correct specs. The MSP springs shouldn't throw out the alignment enough to require a camber kit for sure! (I can't even think of anyone who makes camber kits for Proteges).

you don't need camber plates, my eibach springs are lower then msp springs and no problems

thats what i thought. hopefully tomorrow this other shop will be gentle on my butt. if not, ill take it to the dealership on monday.

You do not need camber plates. You should have made a note about the orientation of the white dots before you installed your springs because the direction of those white dots affect the toe settings for your car.

camber is not effected much. it is the toe.

mine was way outa wack and i just took it to discount tires and got it aligned.

you dont need to tell them you lowered it.

so i took it to a different place, they only charged me $50 no camber issues.
