I hope not! :O The DP should work, as long as the surfaces are machined properly, and there is a tight seal. Hopfully the messed-up screw hole on the falange will hold up.

No, its not new, its used. I bought it from another member along with his other misc. turbo stuff.

or you can get someone to weld it shut and drill it out. hmm looks like there was an exhaust leak..

yerp u can see the carbon residue build up on the one side.....i hope u got that dp really cheap...or u got jeped

I only paid a little over a grand for everything except a turbo. pre-drilled oil pan, mani, greddy EGT, intercooler, etc...

Well if my DP is a total loss i can get anything i want pretty much, and just get a custom DP made. Only issue would be making sure the intercooler pipes still fit. Any suggestions?

Yeah really, Did the guy u bought it from tell u it was like that in the beginning, otherwise u got ripped the F*CK OFF
By the way who sold it to u..I I'd be cussing dude out like a mutha

For the price i got it for, i'm not cussing anyone out. The DP is a cheap part to replace.

I put in an offer for his, unless whoever buys his mani off ebay wants it, then that person gets priority.
I was looking at T3's on ebay, and the bolt pattern doesn't match up with my DP anyways. T3/T4's did though, most i looked at...
If a turbo is internally wastegated, you can still convert it to be external right?

I think it will too if i get it machined to a very flat surface, i can get rid of the exhaust leak. Not too much though, or it might jeopordize the integrity of the flange, but that bolt could still be screwed in as tightly as it could be if it wasn't broken i think.
Still need a turbo though...

just get some gaskets made. saw some nice ones earlier on ebay while searching for a new turbo for my car. also id say get it welded then drill out the hole. then get it machined. thats what i would do.

If you don't want to weld it yet or replace it, just get a big washer to put under the bolt head so when you tighten up the bolt, the washer will disperse the load a little more evenly accross the area that way it won't open up the hole any more.

Well, when you try to put the dp on a turbo, I'm guessing you'll understand why it is like that!

Don't weld it up and re-drill it, you'll never get a bolt in there otherwise!

Note: I'm betting it was done for that reason. . .the dp gets in the way of putting a bolt in. . .so you put the bolt in the turbo and slip the dp over it. It won't affect it at all if the surface is flat. . .as for cussing someone out over it. ..give it a rest. . .especially if you don't know why it is done. It won't harm anything if the flange is flat (and if it wasn't flat, it wouldn't matter anyway).
