Is it totaled?

My wife got hit yesterday. The insurance said they will try to fix it and let us know in 5 days. The picture doesn't show but the rear right door won't close properly, the body is bent, the car smells like rotten eggs, I guess it's a catalytic converter (the whole exhaust needs to be replaced). The car had 135K miles and you can get them for around $5K in good shape, maybe somebody can tell me if it's worth fixing it.

If it costs more to fix than the value of your car than the insurance company usually totals it.

it looks like the trunk floor is damaged too.. I am pretty sure after the estimate comes in its going to get totaled.
i could be wrong though.

Sorry but this looks like a total loss. Likely best to replace the car.

Still waiting for insurance to call. That car was really fun do drive. I remember I went 50mph on a 90 degree turn, lots of noise but the car made it no problem . It had 136K miles and never gave us big troubles, only brake pads and rotors, valve cover gasket, thermostat, tires - very reliable car.
