Is anyone having problems with their stock CD player?

Its the stock Z828 CD player, first it was just the display that was all scrambled which I can live with, been like that for months, then randomly it would just shut off so I would have to turn it back on, now today it just would not work. I drove around for about 15mins and finally it came on only to go off 5secs later, it did this for most of the day, but now it works fine.
Anyone else have this problem? I ran a quick search, but nothing.

I changed my stock Z828 MP3 player 3 times when the car is under warranty. Problems are graphics all messed up, it turns on and off by itself and my last z828 stop taking any CD/MP3 disc, it will reject the disc back out.

I bought another aftermarket deck. They are not expensive now.

Yea mine is doing the same thing i just called kenwood and they told to send to one of their serv. centers

I don't think the radio is still under warranty after 5 years? Repair probably cost more than a new one. lol

The original owner of my MP3 had the same problems... so mazda replaced it with another kenwood deck.. then they both got stolen. Now i have a EZ500, i love it.

Mine just started the same problem. The radio will skip. Maybe I will give Kenwood a call & see if I can squeeze a replacement. Otherwise, I will try to get a new deck as it's probably cheaper than fixing.

^i was surprised to see that new decks these days are so much cheaper than they were 2-3yrs ago. Mine is working fine now, weird, but I will likely get a new one once I have money or if it finally decides to take a big crap.
