besides the CAI i was quoted on a custom turbo kit. It is a Garrett Turbo intercooler....the whole nine yards......for $3500.00 is it worth it? and if i do it what other type of mods should i make to the car to be able to handle the turbo??

garrett turbo intercooler?? does this mean utilizing a garrett turbo, if so which one, and what kind of intercooler?

Not Sure?...

u know i'm really not sure...i didn't really get into the details to much with the guy yet.....but what would be best????

what are your goals? i see you have an auto tranny, so you can't go wild or you have chance of breaking the tranny..

well i have 156hp now and i would like to get at least above 200hp. something that i can still use as a daily driver. basically i want FAST!!! but dont want to damage the car. what should i do??

wether it is worth it will all depend on what they are doing to it. and more importantly how much knowledge they have. some joe schmoe in his ghetto shop can slap a turbo on it but it doesnt mean its' going to work properly and be dependable.

they are a very well known shop where i live. and have quite a few custom cars. so i do trust their work.

who cares, the more you know about turbos the less chance you have of getting ****** over..which is where maximum boost book can help you out....or at least go get SPECIFICS of the kit and let us know and i will tell you if 3500 is a decent price.

Keep in mind you are pretty limited with the AT. 200HP might even be pushing it if you want to keep your car reliable.

does it even make a difference that is a sports automatic??? i don't think it does. so then how can i get really good power while keeping it runnig reliable?? i know that if i stripped some weight off that would help...but what about ignition systems and s*** like that....i'm kinda new at this soo...any info helps.

as far as i know theres not an ecu flash or whatever its called. and if u run a piggyback system it wont work for some reason ( i think they said that the factory ecu would re-learn the old settings). as u can tell im not 100% sure of what im talkin about here but thats the only thing holdin me back is the electrical portion of this thing. also ide like to jsut wait for the hiboost kit (if anyone ever hears from them people again) cuz ive heard goodthing about them and the kit description sounds pretty good. haltec ecu, garrett t3-t4 turbo, front mount intercooler, all the good stuff ya know.

trust me when i say most of us have been down this road ..who can get their 3 the fastest first(it might not be in this case) ..well i had a 75 shot..now as protaining to engine/fuel management i had a wet nitrous system so it held up just fine but the tranny was another story and it was 5spd..now i would like to say that i had about 215hp to the wheels (AEM intake too).. and my car was a monster ...ive done my investagation and i am convinced that my tranny was doomed from the factory and have the up most faith in my new one...i will attempt to try it one more time within a few months but if im wrong then i think we all gonna have some serious problems...now as for ECU tuning SCT is working for our pain in the ass canbus durtec ECU and will be out with a flasher in november i look forward to that..when that is finally done..a whole new door will open for the serious tuner...

well good news! there is there is a perfomance auto tranny (lsd and all the bells and wistles) that should bolt up and give you way more reliability than a manual....not here comes the bad news...it's gonna cost ya :( link to thread below will help alil more on the subject.
