just did my brakes, had the same problem, and found this thread. I am fairly pissed because the guide clip gouged a nice deep gash in my brand new brembo blanks. *sigh*
anyway, i found the easiest thinig was to take a pair of pliers and rip out the 'warning scraper' out of its rivet. even the oem didn't have a scraper on that side, so i'm not concerned about that. no more screeching, and hopefully no new grooves. so these hawks pissed me off, but they do stop pretty damn nice. Now it's time to clean my wheels so i can see how fast brake dust builds up.
