IPOD head unit help?

Hello,

Sorry to be of bother to you all, but I new to all this, and was wondering if somebody could help me with regards to my head unit I have on my Mazda 3,

I am not very technical, which I apologise to you now, but I have recently bought an IPOD 60GB, and was wanting to put all my CD's onto it, then manage to play my IPOD through my stereo in my car.

Now at first I was wanting to just use an ITRIP, FM transmitter, but the quality is not very good, and is against the law in the UK. So my next choice is getting an Alpine MP3 stereo, but was wondering how you would go about installing it with what I already have in my car as standard, as the whole upper of the middle compartment is the stereo.

If someone could explain how this can be done, and maybe have a picture of what it would/could look like, it would be a great help.

i dont know if yall have a best buy over there but i do know that they have the dash kit and harness for installing a stereo into the mazda3. i was planning on changing mine too so i can use my ipod on it or get and mp3 stereo. the harness and the dash kit was going to be bout 40 dollars over here.

there is a piece that is made by some electrical engineers (in school) called the aux mod that goes right to your stock stereo and you plug you i pod into that, my friend has it on his mazda6 and loves it compared to the fm transmitter... i will find the link to thier website, you need to e-mail them to be put on the list and the wait time varies, though i believe its a lot less then it used to be and is around 75$ u.s. if i remember correctly.. i will post the link... its a lot cheaper then putting in a new stereo... plus you can keep it stock=less chance of theft..

found it, its only 60 u.s dollars, plus shipping... it looks like they have them in stock to ship out, and the next model is soon to be released from what i could tell... good luck with what ever method you choose...
