iPod and BT Audio questions...

Hello. New '11 GT AWD owner, 3 days old. LOVE the car so far.

Question 1 -- I'm aware of the iPod integration kit through reading the manual and posts here; but, can you also use the Aux1 connection to the iPod's headset port? I've hooked it up via a 3.5mm cable I purchased at Radio Shack and the audio system recognizes that there's a device on Aux1 but no audio or visuals...no nothing, no anything. This may be a futile exercise because it simply won't work this way, but thought I'd ask.

Question 2 -- My VZW Motorola Droid X works perfectly via Bluetooth to make or receive calls. Now, the Droid X also has music on it. The audio system recognizes the phone for music (BT Audio is lit up when I select Source). However, it won't play BT audio and I can't figure out why. It shows the first song track (from one of the playlists) but when I press play it just stares back at me. Thoughts?

I'd have called Mazda Customer Service but no service on the weekends (!). Thanks.

UPDATE: Please disregard. Both the iPod and BT Audio with the Droid X work perfectly fine over the car audio system. The volume was all the way up on the devices but it was all the way down on the CX-9. Duh! :-D

i changed my head unit but when i had the old unit in the aux played fine for zune not sure why yours is not working

My AUX port works fine for the IPOD, but needed a ground loop isolator to eliminate buzzing feedback.

The current BT on the CX-9 does not support audio playback, besides phone conversations and voicemail.

i only had the factory headunit for about 2 weeks before i replaced the head unit with a pioneer avic z120bt

The factory BT in our 2011 recognizes both phone and audio on my Android phone; it also does a smart override and pause/resume automatically with the Meridian app.

Don't know what you mean by "current BT" but the BT on my 2010 GT plays music just fine. Also obviously plays audiobooks which is what I use it for more often but I've had no issues with music.

My '11 plays audio from my iPhone fine, and will play any other apps I want by selecting bluetooth audio through the mode button on the steering wheel. I used it yesterday while using mapquest turn by turn directions. It would lower the music to play the directions and go back to the song. I also plug my nano into the aux port in the console.
