IOS 5 and bluetooth

ATT phone DOES shows SOng info while the BT Paired to Mazda

I just reviewed Mazda's bluetooth compatibility site (http://mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=bluetooth) and I reviewed all AT&T and Verizon phones for a 2011 CX-9 GT with navigation. There were over 200 phones listed, and NOT ONE showed that the bluetooth audio would "Displays Song Information". All 200+ phones were listed as "Not available". I got tired of clicking through all the manufacturers, but after selecting 2 of the major carriers, I have concluded that NO PHONE works with Mazda's feature. I am at a loss to why Mazda even has this on this vehicle if they cannot certify ANY phone to work well with the bluetooth audio.

This is crap.

My ATT Focus S (i937) and my former ATT Focus (i917), they both shows all the details of the song into my Nav System display, and the track number while playing songs over bluetooth. I haven't try my iPhone since I updated, but will do it shortly. I am pretty shure it will. I have tried other devices such us WebOS tablets, and they show it. You can probably check if your specific model have a Bluetooth with AVRCP 1.3 capabilities by visiting the bluetooth site.... here the link that confirms that ATT's i937 does comply with AVRCP 1.3, which is reflected on the fact that it does shows music info on the displays (Link to BT specifications for ATT's i937). I actiually posted a picture of my CX9 showing the song info on the display while playing songs from i937 via blueooth (See picture here).

From this additional thread, it seems that the issue is a combination of components on different models/versions of Mazdas http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...ia-Bluetooth&p=5874826&viewfull=1#post5874826

iPhone 3G and 4 not working completely for me

I try my old iPhone 3G (v.3.1) and my old iPhone 4 (v5.1) and none of them work correctly.

They both transmit audio, but they don't show any song detail. The CX9 is able to pause, not to move forward of backward.

Since it work fine for me in the very same car with other devices (PC, Samsung (ATT) Focus, Samsung (ATT) Focus S, HP Touchpad Tablet,...) I beleive it is a problem with the Apple OS communicating with the electronics of my CX9... it is very unexpected since, as i mentioned before, plenty other devices works very well with full functionality over BlueTooth

What model year are you trying?????? My 2008 works fine with my old 3GS and my new 4S.

Same is true for my 2011 GT with Bose (no Nav). My iPad2 (iOS 5.1) does stream audio, but does not show track info. Ditto for iPhone 4 with iOS 5.
So it looks like none of the AVCRP 1.3 profile functions are working, only basic prev/next/pause functions of AVCRP 1.0 are supported.

I just updated my Verizon iPhone 4s with iOS6. It still does not show any Bluetooth track information on my 2011 CX-9. Basic audio can still be streamed via Bluetooth.

Anybody else have any luck with iOS6?
